Way to complete the sweep, boys!!!
I went to club in Chicago called Reggies to hear Cactus (with legendary drummer Carmen Appice) and the Pat Travers Band. A really good show overall and first concert of any kind that I've been to since the pandemic. Late though, didn't get home until well after 1:00 AM, well past my bedtime!

Carmen Appice is the man. I didn't know he was still alive! I remember him pre-Cactus with Vanilla Fudge, an early power trio that had a big hit with a heavy duty version of The Supremes' "Keep Me Hangin' On." His drum instructionals are considered classics. Pat Travers is great too. From the heyday of serious guitar soloists. That had to be an outstanding show. You do like the heavy stuff, don't you?

Baseball can be such a cruel sport. Thanks for the effort Ryan! I was thinking the same thing. This journeyman guy drops in unexpectedly, pitches beautifully -- he was keeping those guys off-balance with his funky stuff -- looked like he was having the best day of his life, and a few minutes later he's DFA'd. He looked good enough that he should resurface somewhere this year. Maybe even with the Yankees.

Hah, didn't know Rod Stewart covered that too. But Appice did a lot of drumming for Rodney, so that likely played a part.
I hesitate to bring it up, but Carmen Appice co-wrote "Do You Think I'm Sexy."

Yes I do like the heavy stuff, but also like to mix it up with some Neil Young and Billy Joel. Carmen played their entire set, including a drum solo, without a break, which is impressive since he's 75. It's too bad Cactus's original guitarist, Jim McCarty can no longer tour due to health issues. He's one of rock's more underrated guitar players.
