I got home from a day in the mountains just in time to see the seventh Red Sox run score. It was interesting. I wore a Yankees tee shirt and my Yankee cap. The waitress at the Italian restaurant we had dinner in was a Red Sox fan with a family of Yankee fans in her home state of NY, and the two guys at the table next to us were native New Yawka's that were avowed Yankee fans. When we left the restaurant, the Yankees were still up 8-2, but I dropped the signal on my phone until we got home, so I had to sweat the outcome the entire remaining 1.5 hours + ...

Has anyone ever seen Tyler Austin with his mouth closed? He seems to have his mouth hanging open during all of his at bats, and often just when he's walking around...Damn, his mouth must get dry...What's with that? Is it a habit? Is he trying to relax? Does he have a facial deformity? I like the kid's bat, but I don't want to see his damn tonsils all the time...

SO, so happy to see Sanchez break out today. REALLY would love to see Tyler Wade (.111) and Andujar (.107) break out before Boone gets any ideas of giving up on them. I know it's early, but when a team is losing there is a tendency to start shuffling the deck...

Let's hope he breaks out (not in hives) tomorrow!

Yankees’ Aaron Boone Fires Shots At Red Sox After Bench-Clearing Brawl“I didn’t know what to expect,” Boone said as seen on YES’s postgame coverage. “I don’t think (the Red Sox) should have, you know? I thought it was a hard slide into second, nothing remotely dirty about it, and so — to take matters into your own hands and go hit one of our guys, for that I thought was an overreaction. I didn’t think it was right.” Boone backed Austin’s decision to charge Kelly. “Tyler Austin is playing the game the right way, clean, the right way, and some guy decides to fire one at you (at) 99 (mph), you never know how you react in that situation, so I had no issue with that,” Boone said. Boone wasn’t done there, as the Yankees first-year manager continued to question Boston’s reaction while defending Austin’s questionable slide. “Because (Austin) came off the base, there could have been an issue from a replay standpoint based on the rules, but no, no,” Boone said when asked about Austin’s slide. “You know sometimes in your slide it carries you, and I don’t know if there’s any carryover from all the (Manny) Machado stuff last year, and they’re going to handle things a certain way now. I mean that was pretty innocuous if you ask me.” nesn.com/2018/04/yankees-aaron-boone-fires-shots-at-red-sox-after-bench-clearing-brawl/

I know it's early, but when a team is losing there is a tendency to start shuffling the deck... It's tough for the young guys, because they know Scranton is always an option and they start to press. Hopefully they both break out of it soon.
