I read somewhere that because Torres is on the 40 man he must spend at least 20 days in the minors to count as an assignment, and if he spends any less he accrues retroactive service time as if he was in the majors. Because of that, Torres has to remain down until after Saturday to retain the extra year of control. I was not aware of that. I read Wednesday was the day. But I can wait till Saturday. But not one day longer! [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/CXbXLVOkSvBJeDFNHBpz.gif" class="smile" alt="  "] Apparently I had the rationale correct but the math wrong. If not for that rule he would have been eligible to be called up this past Saturday without losing a year of control. Because of it they will have to wait until tomorrow. |
