This is an unbelievable trade for Cashman. I doubt Soto was ever going to happen, so picking up Benintendi for three interesting arms is pretty good. I liked Champlain for his K/W rate 94/19. Sikkema might be the guy we regret losing, but he hasn't stayed healthy. Way is a nice arm, but Yankees system is full of those. This move on the surface is painless, but you never know.

I guess Carpenter does also play infield positions so theres def spots for him if needed on certain days. Was just thinking about this before I read you guys posts. You’re most definitely right about Boone not playing the same lineup everyday. However, what on earth is he going to do in the Post Season? If Stanton is healthy, he has to play the field it would seem. You would have Stanton, Judge, AB in the OF. Rizzo, Gleyber, IKF, Donaldson on the INF. Trevino at catcher. No way LeMahieu is out of the lineup so you either DH him or play him at 3rd. But absolutely no way Hicks should play to sacrifice Donaldson, DJ, Stanton or Rizzo. I’m thinking there’s a good chance that the MLB roster may get shaken up a bit, too. Donaldson can’t get around on the fastball anymore. He could go today and not be missed… |
