Like the fact they were willing to get better for the stretch. Montas will be the number 2 if you ask me. Needed it bad.

Sears is 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA in two starts and five relief appearances with the Yankees. He is 1-1 with a 1.67 ERA in nine starts and two relief appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Bowman, a fourth-round draft pick last year who signed for a $353,000 bonus, hit .217 this year for Class-A Hudson Valley with 15 doubles, eight homers, 35 steals and 35 RBIs.
Medina is 4-3 with a 3.38 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 72 innings this season at Double-A Somerset.
Waldichuk, a fifth-round selection in 2019, is 6-3 with a 2.71 ERA in 116 strikeouts in 76 1/3 innings for Triple-A Scranton and Double-A Somerset this year.
DO ME'S THOUGHTS: Again I think we OVER PAID!!! Could have done trade with only ONE of Medina or Waldichuk. Wi miss Sears!!!
BOONE/CASH better Mgr Yanks to WS -- of not I will curse him and Cash (I am just about to graduate from Shaman School.) Go figure.
PLEASE NO MORE PROSPECTS to be TRADED.
MUST Trade GALLO and CHAPMAN.

There is definitely talent in that group, but the Yankees are leaking at the pitching seems. Not sure if Lou Trivino with a 6.47 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP is going to take anyone's place in the bullpen. Montas was a necessity for any playoff hopes. We also don't have a Lou on the 40 man roster. Every MLB team should have at least one Lou. And, he's from Pipps' neck of the woods in Green Lane, PA, and attended Slippery Rock University.

Yeah, the world needs more guys named Lou. And Stu. There aren't many Stus these days.

At one time it had a reputation as being one of the best part schools in the country, if that's something to be proud of.

In his last 16 games, Trevino has a 3.52 ERA and 8 saves. On June 3 his ERA was 9.18, so he’s come a long way back. He’s not perfect at this point, having allowed 20 hits in 15.1 innings over that span. Let’s wait and see… pinstripes can work magic, you know…(or not)…

Chi, I didn't realize until looking it up just now that Clarion had changed its name to Western Pennsylvania University Clarion. Not sure why they made it such a mouthful. I also didn't know that John Calipari was an alumnus.

The name change has something to do with linking Clarion and some of the other state universities into one educational system. PA is doing the same thing with schools on the eastern part of the state.

Slippery Rock was my first (of not many) college start and my first college victory (even fewer). Was told by one of the seniors that if I just threw strikes we should win easily as Wake had beaten them like 24-3 the previous year. First batter lays down a perfect drag bunt that didn't even warrant a throw to first. He promptly steals second. Gets moved to third when the next batter hits behind him to second. The third batter then executes a textbook suicide squeeze to score the run. No possible defense to it. I looked out to the senior with a "what the hell were you talking about" look. I'm thinking, geez, if this is a bad college team, I don't belong here because the first 3 batters have executed everything flawlessly. Fortunately for us, they didn't play so well the rest of the game and we won fairly easily. But it was kind of a rude introduction nonetheless.
