Walker and Wade are just not seeing the ball and have no timing right now.

Chapman uses high gas to record the first out in the 9th.
Make that high gas for the first two outs in the 9th.

That's the best Chapman has looked all season and the Yanks get a win.

Chapman with a 100 mph strikeout, 101 mph strikeout, and another 101 mph strikeout. Slider working early in the count to get ahead. Dominating. 4-3 Yankees win!

That's the best Chapman has looked all season and the Yanks get a win. I agree. When he's throwing that slider for a strike, his fastball is unhittable.

Over all the team managed to win tonight in spite of themselves. Poor fielding, not the best hitting in the clutch. Just a bit sloppy. They still need to sharpen up, the Red Sox are 15-2. That's not the end of the world, but it sure doesn't make sloppy play any easier to put up with...
Yes, I do agree that Chapman looked great tonight...Even Betances looked good...Some things are coming around...

Chapman’s slider is so much improved this season. It provides a real weapon not only to play off his fastball but also to lean on if his fastball isn’t getting it done. I’m really amazed at the improvement of the pitch from last year.

Yes, that's so true. In the past, all it did was hang there. The only reason it was effective at all was because it was more like an accidental change up...If the hitters sat on it, they could hit it. No more...
