Cole trying to break his homerun given up in a single season which is 31 he has 29 now. wow...he better work on command/control/location and work on developing a better cutter in the off season like I stated before, that slider was terrible today.

Audubon? Bayfield? Liberty? I give up… It was Hamilton Park in Jersey City. That's a really nice area. Feels like Park Slope in Brooklyn with the brownstones and plenty of trees. My friend who went to your school Stevens Institute grew up there and showed me around many years ago. It was not my image of Jersey City (and of course there are less genteel sections.) I think I mentioned before that in their last few years in Brooklyn, the Dodgers played seven home games (one against each NL team) at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. I think it was part of Walter O'Malley's plan to pressure Brooklyn into providing updated facilities. But yeah, major league baseball has been played in New Jersey.

I forgot the Dodgers played in Jersey City! What year did your friend graduate from Stevens Tech? I was class of 2005.

Mechanical Engineering guy. He used to talk about how the Chairman of General Motors Charles Mott went to Stevens. I know you guys have had a few Nobel Prize recipients too.

Audubon? Bayfield? Liberty? I give up… It was Hamilton Park in Jersey City. Guessing by looking at a map, I’ve never been there. Considering how close we lived to New Jersey, I spent very little time there. As a youngster, I visited my aunt in Paterson, which got cheated out of one of it’s “t’s” for some reason. Made the obligatory couple of trips to Atlantic City. Then, I covered propane sales from lime Swedesboro down to Millville when the salesman down that way was on vacation. Mike Trout hadn’t been heard from then. Was probably just getting started in high school… A couple trips to the aquarium in Camden. Very nice aquarium, by the way.

With your Swedish ancestry Swedesboro should have a special place in your heart. One of the many 17th century Swedish settlements along the Delaware River in DE, PA and NJ. In fact the oldest extant log cabin in the US is in Swedesboro. The King of Sweden visited there during the Bicentennial. When Mike Trout was born in Millville in 1991, his State Rep was named Edward Salmon. Not making that up. Trout still has a home in Millville where he pursues his meteorological hobby in the winter. Definitely a homeboy.

I don’t know much about being Swedish except that I very much prefer the Italians’ version of meatballs… I heard much more about the French Canadians on the other side of the family, and that in relative terms was little…

You mentioned your Aunt in Paterson. That was the hometown of Larry Doby and a lesser-known but quite respectable OFer Charlie Jamieson.
Doby, Trout, Ducky Medwick, Goose Goslin, Monte Irvin, Willie Wilson -- some pretty fair OFers from the Garden State. Jeter was born there, although raised in Kalamazoo. Orel Hershiser, Al Leiter, Al Downing, Ron Perranoski for pitchers. Jeff Torborg, Earl Williams catching. There have to be some IFers besides Todd Frazier.
And the first game played under recognizably modern rules was in Hoboken at the Elysian Fields in 1846.
