Cole one away from Guidry's record. Chi rooting against him. Guidry would have struck out 349 of today's hitters.

Rizzo calls Cashman mid-game and asks "Can I DFA Hicks?"

At the four and two-thirds innings point, Rizzo should send Boone to the showers.

I bought four pints of ice cream at the store. Just got back - I needed dog food for Greta. Who predicted Judge would be DH today? Brooklyn? Good job! Four pints of ice cream! I'd be in heaven! What flavors? I’d be on a slab in the morgue…

Andujar got another hit and RBI today. After three games he is 4-11 with five RBIs. Of course it's a little different doing it against the Reds in meaningless late September games. I'm not pining for his return. Yea, wishing him the best, but not really missing him.

With Andujar at third, we made it to the seventh game of the ALCS.

I'm not pining for his return. Yea, wishing him the best, but not really missing him. The primary issue I always had with Andujar was the he was a one-dimensional player. He could hit. That was it. I do give him credit for becoming a reasonable facsimile of a left fielder…

My first hope is that Beni and Carp are both back and we won't need them. I was about to say Hicks because he's been hitting lately, but after that dunderhead play I am reevaluating. Benintendi and Carpenter we can get to later. Right now, it's Locastro vs. Hicks. Upon further review, I probably still stay with Hicks because while I know Locastro can run like the wind he is useless with the bat. The benches are so thin that I don't think the Yankees can afford the luxury of a pinch runner. With an 11 man pitching staff, I'd be happy to have a running specialist.

What's strange is the biggest concern about Andujar was his defense and where could the Yankees play him. Turns out he was fine in LF, but just didn't hit.

Okay to for everyone except Pipps: Locastro or Marwin Gonzalez?
Pipps? Hicks or Marwin Gonzalez?

Marwin playing a pretty nifty first base. So far Cole's performance has been reassuring.
I just don't want the three-run home run.

Okay to for everyone except Pipps: Locastro or Marwin Gonzalez? Pipps? Hicks or Marwin Gonzalez? Locastro. Oswaldo can be the utility guy. We don't need Marwin. I like Locastro as the late inning pinch runner.

Hicks vs. Locastro:
Bat: Slight edge to Hicks because of his power and OBP ability.
Fielding: Slight edge to Hicks. Range is similar, Hicks takes better routes and his arm is back.
Baserunning: Gigantic edge to Locastro, though Hicks still retains respectable foot speed.
Base Stealing: Gigantic edge to Locastro
Situational value: Either should be bench pieces. The Yankees don’t offer a lot of pinch hitting chances, and are more likely to employ a pinch runner.
I’d take Locastro for his legs…

Okay to for everyone except Pipps: Locastro or Marwin Gonzalez? Pipps? Hicks or Marwin Gonzalez? Damn, I never thought I'd be defending a stiff like Hicks, but the competition here is pretty scruffy. I know Marwin is more versatile, but if I illegally put in some context of DJLM returning, we don't need him. So with great sorrow I still take Hicks. You'd be hard-pressed to name another player over whom I would take Hicks unless we're going full Jonathan Davis. Or maybe Stanton.
