Sounds about right. I can live with that. A couple of things in Cole's favor in Game One. First, he's matched up against Cleveland's number three starter. Second, Cleveland is 29th in hitting home runs, and as we know allowing home runs has been Cole's biggest weakness this year. One thing we definitely don't need is a three-run blast by Cleveland early in the game and fans booing Cole off the mound. That threat is hopefully minimized in this matchup.

That should play to Cole's strength.

That should play to Cole's strength. The worst position for Cole this season was 2 outs and RISP: .264/.304/.623/.926. To me, that is a combination of poor pitch selection, bad luck, and loss of focus. Consider his numbers when the game is tied: .185/.252/.419/.671 or within one run: 186/.250/.386/.636 or late and close: .177/.177/.382/.559. or behind: .194/.224/.368/.591. or ahead: .230/.280/.382/ .663.

It’s enough reason for me to pull against the Braves now.

Sounds about right. Yea that sounds right. Wouldn't be shocked if the Yankees swept though. This series hopefully isn't too much of a problem biggest issue is Houston (I don't expect Seattle to have much of a chance vs them), but lets not look ahead one series at a time, but I feel like it's been destined for Yankees vs Houston for a while.

I think it's Yanks in 5. Biggest reasons is their bullpen is probably not as good as seasons past and this team doesn't seem to do anything easy.
Someone else besides Judge needs to step up. My guess it will either be Torres or Carbrera. I wish Donaldson was on the bench and who knows what we get from Stanton and DJ. Stanton looked like he was coming around, but now has been off for 5 days. Rizzo comes and goes and their catchers, Bader and IKF make the bottom of the order looking bleak.
I think they can go all the way, but I don't have a lot of confidence. If Judge doesn't see any pitches and don't know why he would, then their pitching better be really good.

I do think their starting pitching is the best it's been in years for once, but yea the bullpen def has been inconsistent. I still think it's more than enough to get by Cleveland who didn't really put up much of a challenge to the Yankees all season and do not really hit home runs. The Yankees pitching biggest weakness has been giving up home runs so like I said the Yankees are just a bad matchup for Cleveland. Cleveland is also the youngest team with barely any playoff experience.

I don't know that I've ever seen one player carry a Yankee offense as much as Judge did this year. Even in the best years of Mantle, Reggie, Mattingly, they had a stronger supporting cast. The Jeter-era teams had a lot of balance throughout the lineup.
