Jack Curry is the official mouthpiece for Cashman so I'm hopeful.

Nothing would make me happier than for Spring Training to actually mean something. I just cannot shake an image of Cashman, arguing that having depth at AAA ensures that if there is an injury, Volpe can always be pulled up. After all, he has options remaining. If Cashman was GM in 1996, Jeter would have been on the train back and fourth from Columbus to New York.

This makes perfect sense to Boone, as the Yankees need a left-fielder.

Jeter himself was almost traded for Felix Fermin… at least, the trade was discussed… Actually, Seattle was willing to trade Fermin for either Mariano Rivera or Bob Wickman. So, we nearly lost the greatest closer in the history of the game because the Yankees were afraid to start a rookie at shortstop. Luckily, Stick Michael was able to convince the front office otherwise.

This might not be it for Garcia with the Yankees.
