Hit by pitch. So, four free passes for Gomez. Talk about pillar to post. He looked so good on the first batter this inning. He struggled though both innings, but so far it’s been “bend, don’t break”. Sometimes that works out. More often than not something breaks along the way. He probably doesn’t have many pitches left. He’s already past 40… |

Gomez gets a grounder to first and covers to end the inning. Good breaking ball and good enough velocity, just limit the walks and hit by pitches and he'd be a useful arm.

He was a good read, good path to the ball guy, with good speed, but never was the fastest guy… I truly can’t remember ever over-running a ball… |

Ortega flys out to end the threat. This “eight second rule”’has now been called on a batter for each team today. I don’t like it. I agree the hitter needs to get in the box, but eight seconds seems so arbitrary and a little fast… Maybe there should be a warning issued to each team before a strike is called… |

If I'm Cashman, Torres would be shopped for a starter and pay for someone to take Donaldson. I'd live with both Volpe and Dominguez as starters. Hicks and Cabrera would be my bench guys.
