By the way, what happened with the umps. The dots did not explain. Francona made no indication that he was challenging the call of the Hicks catch. They went to commercial and the Indians were walking off the field. For some reason after they showed the replay in the stadium the umps got together and decided to grant a challenge and overturned the call leading to 2 runs. Absolutely atrocious umpiring. Confusing at what justification they can give. |

For some reason after they showed the replay in the stadium the umps got together and decided to grant a challenge and overturned the call leading to 2 runs. Absolutely atrocious umpiring. Confusing at what justification they can give. Isn’t there also a provision for the umpires to review a play if they have doubts? If so, they were justified and the ultimate goal of accuracy was achieved… |

By the way, what happened with the umps. The dots did not explain. And in another unrelated play Larry Vanover, who was at 2B got struck in the head by a thrown ball. It gave us a run and knocked Vanover out of the game… |
