Let’s wait to make sure it isn’t a double play first.

From RAB: "Neil Walker drove him with a robbed home run. It went over the yellow line in right field, but Kole Calhoun brought it back. Sucks. Gregorius scored on the sac fly, and the umpires decided Giancarlo Stanton left second base too early when he tagged up to go to third, and the inning was over. Replays showed he didn’t leave early! After the game Aaron Boone took responsibility for not challenging the play, saying he ran out of time while checking to make sure Didi’s run counted. Either way, the Yankees led 2-1. Rookie manager mistake? I guess so. Still annoying." Come on Boone. You pulled a Girardi. You can't make mistakes like that. Thank God we won or I'd be pissed.

I'm going back and reading through the comments and although they won it sounds like it was a shit show of a game to watch. I didn't have it in me to stay awake anyway haha!

I guess the umpire is off the hook for such a terrible joke of a call?

[img class="smile" alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/MGJDDHsrMXMaKUaTXDWm.gif"] I went to bed after Stanon's line drive was caught up against the wall in the 8th. I thought for sure this was going to be one of the tougher losses of the season, so thrilled to see that they came back to win.

Boone has to challenge the tag up, because even if it was the correct call (which it wasn't) then Didi's run scored would have to be challenged by the Angels. If the tag up call was wrong (which it was) then there is nothing to challenge. The Yankees have had two abjectly awful calls this season, and this was one of them. The other was not overturning the first baseman's foot clearly four or five inches off the bag. If the crowd can tell on the stadium screen, the announcers for both teams concur from replay and YES-Mo, how can the umps not see it AFTER a reviewed challenge?

Well, that was a fun game...Final Score, Yankees approximately 4, Angels about 3, Umpires -2, maybe -3...
Boone had little to lose by challenging "the play", so if he was running out of time, he should have thrown caution to the winds and just challenged...
Feel so sorry for you guys that didn't make it to the end. Move west, men...The game came on at 8:05 here in Colorado, and I had no struggles at all. One of the many things I like about the Mountain Time Zone. "Afternoon" games come on at 11:05. It's a hoot!
Didi is on such a great start that I can't help but think he could play this way all season and win the MVP!!!
I'm almost willing to hand the gold glove to Calhoun for the season based on this one game. Those two catches were both sterling!!!

I'm glad I didn't stay up for it then, I find those games just often leave me frustrated even if the end result is a win.
