Tip of the cap to Gerrit Cole, who did not have his best stuff or command, yet he fashioned six innings of two-run ball.

Inger's boy with the catch to end the inning! He plays center field like a young inger. Quite a similar style actually. Catch the ball first, then check for fractures…I loved gettin’ dirty. Call the horny police!…🤓

Really. Curry may be the best at it, but he hardly revolutionized the concept like Ruth did with the home run. The closest analogy if there is one in a team sport may be Wilt. And O'Neill did mention him. Wilt actually caused the game to change its own rules! Today's NBA players do not have to face turnovers for palming, carrying, walking, etc. They also have no trouble creating space or a shot with no defensive hand-checking. No one even offers defense in the paint. It's the worst brand of basketball that was and is being played on any outside court in America. Growing up, these were the playground type players who couldn't make a team because they couldn't play with the limiting rules, turning the ball over time and time again, then sent to the end of the bench. It's not basketball in my opinion. Excellent summation of where we are with the great game of basketball. Wilt used to get assaulted in the paint. And in his early days he could bring the ball upcourt if needed.

Bench pressed around 600 pounds, was a world class volleyball player, etc. And, an intelligent, thoughtful person with strong opinions and political stances for which he stood fast in the wake of criticism.
