Game #62 - White Sox (Giolito) vs. Yankess (Schmidt)

The White Sox have played a bit better of late but they remain an awful team. Their 297 OBP is next to last in MLB. Though the starting rotation has done a decent job, if you can get into gen bullpen there is a lot of damage to be done.

The Yankees are now up to ninth in MLB in runs scored after a dismal start in the category and are only 8’HR behind the hot starting Rays in HR, 103-95. The White Sox have got only 61. That said Aaron Judge’s bat will be out for at least the first game which narrows the margin considerably.

The Sox seldom run, but when they do, they do so effectively with a 34/5 steal ratio. The Yankees, 47/9 stealing could take advantage of Grandal’s 16% CS in this series if they can find someone to run. We’ll see if Volpe can build off Sundays good game and get on base. Greg Allen is down with an injury, taking his speed out of play.

The Yankees have a significant advantage in team ERA at 3.69 to 4.74, the White Sox staff has been better than only 4 teams in MLB this year, so barring a starting gem from the Sox, the Yankees should March to series win.

On a final note, neither Tim “Jackie” Anderson nor Anthony Benintendi have homered yet this year while Elvis Andrus who. Now mand second has only one. The White Sox power primarily comes from two hitters, so we should know who to pitch carefully…
