Good lord Boone, just say we got our buts kicked and we'll come back tomorrow and do better. This isn't the norm for the Yanks, they have been in almost every game they've played.

Boone said we have been playing well lately just not winning much and Krook really threw the ball well there were many uncomfortable swings and we did an excellent job of shutting down Devers

But I won’t go into it. If Devers had gotten loose it could have been worse I suppose… 😂

I like Cashman but he became stale and stubborn. I wanted fresh blood. I blame him entirely for this mess. I have been a Boone supporter thinking he does make some mistakes but just working with what he was given BUT the last week has been a disaster. I'm tired of injured plays laughing in the dugout not helping the team and there has just been sloppy play. Something needs to change.

JD is curse and a cancer to this team. As Mr. G used to say: "When Donaldson hits, we lose!" (Fortunately, he doesn't hit a lot).

JD is curse and a cancer to this team. As Mr. G used to say: "When Donaldson hits, we lose!" (Fortunately, he doesn't hit a lot). I’m sure it’s very unusual to find a player that hits better when his team loses. Of course it’s also unusual for a player like that to continue to stay in the line up. “Stat Padding Johnny”. When you know it’s over he’ll hit you a meaningless dinger. Cone was talking about what it’s like when your career is over, saying that the player is usually the last to know. On this case I think perhaps his manager and GM seem to be the last to know…

Donaldson only has 56 plate appearances, so I don't think that stat means much. Plus we don't need anymore stats to tell us Josh is washed, we can see it for ourselves.

Donaldson is our favorite whipping boy now that Hicks has been shuttled away down I-95, but with 56 PA, he’s not why we’re lingering closer to last place than first place. He hasn’t hurt us that much, but he sure hasn’t helped much either…

I think Bader has been fresh blood he has that Nick Swisher energy so has Volpe but he needs to get on base more. We've seen Rizzo perform at an MVP level earlier this season. I'm sure Stanton will come around, but he's in his warmup phase from the IL he always has. The other issue is until Stanton is ready to go and play the field it's going to effect Judge's playing time as well, because he can't come back at say 80% and be DH if Stanton is clogging up the DH spot. He hasn’t hurt us that much, but he sure hasn’t helped much either… It depends on how you look at it. Had Cashman not agreed to take on Donaldson's contract, the Yankees may have been able to target a real left-fielder. Also, without Donaldson, Oswald Peraza is likely on the 26-man roster playing third base, short, and second while tag-teaming with DJ LeMahieu. Peraza and Volpe would have continued to push each other beyond Spring Training. All conjecture certainly, but Cashman is the architect of right-handed dominant teams without a table-setter to be found. Batting Bauer leadoff? Remember how fun it was in Spring Training with the speed of Volpe, Peraza, IKF, and Florial? For some reason, Cashman prefers Calhoun, Bauers, and Franchy - as he tries desperately to find players to take advantage of right field in Yankee Stadium. Even further back, Cashman decided on Stanton, when he could have added Harper the next season. The one thing I had no idea about was Donaldson's defense. Despite the error (or non-scored error) last night, Donaldson is the best all-around defensive third sacker we have had in a long time. At least since Scott Brosius, who was as good on bare-handing slow rollers and getting the ball to first on time as anyone.

To an extent, Stanton is such because he is often unavailable or in his slump phase as he recovers, plus his insistence on playing in the field encumbers the defense. I’m also concerned that Trevino, despite his D has become so poor at the plate. It’s times like this that we need someone that can hit that a need to upgrade the catching position shows up. We also have to winder how cumbersome carrying Bader and his boo-boos will become.

We also have to winder how cumbersome carrying Bader and his boo-boos will become. There was a reason Trevino was available, and we were duped by his first half surge last season. The surprising aspect is that he is below his usually poor career offensive numbers even without the shifting this season. While he's still above average defensively, he is 40% below the average MLB hitter. In the last 12 games started, Higgy is batting .308/.342/.385/.726, and that is without any home runs. I wasn't sold on Bader offensively when we obtained him, but I certainly didn't foresee him on the training table more than in centerfield. It is mind-boggling how many of Cashman's acquisitions are not in play due to injuries. Meanwhile, Jordan Montgomery has a 3.91 ERA (and an FIP of 3.64), continuing to consistently pitch into the sixth inning without getting any run support from the Cardinals, much like his situation in the Bronx. But, he nevertheless keeps taking the ball every fifth day and putting up representative starts.
