I hate overthinking if you make a move or not but this is the big leagues. If your starter can't give you 5 innings you have to move on. Hoping Rondon comes back but besides Cole we don't have a starter that has the confidence to gone 5 or more.

I think Schmidt should have been given at least one more batter. He’s still growing and much improved. But that’s not baseball 2023… Had it been a right-handed batter for sure, but a lefty Boone was going to pull him. |

But that’s not baseball 2023… Had it been a right-handed batter for sure, but a lefty Boone was going to pull him. He’s stepped up and is much improved vs. lefties. But you’re correct, though I don’t think Boone would have let him pitch if it was Pete Gray making a comeback at the plate… |
