Okay, since we’re dreaming, would you guys rather have Ohtani or Soto? I think I’d take Soto… Soto is basically 4 years younger and is better OF than Ohtani. I think Soto is one of those guys who love to be a Yankee, but not sure about Ohtani.

As I reported on @mlb Network this morning, sources tell me the Angels front office will consider incoming trade inquiries for Shohei Ohtani. The club is not ruling out the possibility of a deadline deal, even though the standard to move Ohtani is extraordinarily high. The team’s performance over the upcoming homestand will be a big consideration in the Angels’ ultimate course. At this point, many in the industry still view a trade as unlikely.
Every season, the Yankees are tied to every big name at the trading deadline, but how often does a trade actually happen? When Judge comes back, are we one more player away from a championship team? We've all seen the current edition of the Yankees , and so has Cashman, is he willing to risk the farm on one player getting them the WS title? He might, because he has a glut of good players in their lower minors that can't be moved up. Not having Staten Island and Palanski has been terrible for them. So, if he's not going to call up Peraza, Florial, Pereria, Wells, et al. he might as well trade them. I think they are though. If the Yankees get Ohtani or Soto and you have a lineup of Whoever leadoff Rizzo? Judge Soto or Ohtani Stanton I think the lineup protection increases a lot if you don't pitch to judge you have to deal with Soto or Ohtani. That's going give Rizzo and whoever leads off more pitches to hit. We know the pitching can win playoff series if it's Cole Rodon as 1/2 and the bullpen is good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would also take Soto for this reasons and I'm not sure if ohtanis pitching will translate to Yankee stadium, but they need a big bat to give judge and others protection. All the talk of the Yanks getting Soto or Ohtani will be moot if they tank from now until the trading deadline?

In my mind he’s the biggest reason we had to can the hitting coach. The kid was fixable, and you can’t tell me he wasn’t coachable..

All the talk of the Yanks getting Soto or Ohtani will be moot if they tank from now until the trading deadline? I was thinking about this. What if the Yankees get swept by the Rockies? What if the keep losing, do they become sellers? Who would they sell? Gleyber - opens up a spot for Peraza and clears payroll Bader - free agent after this season Wandy German

I think from everything we've heard they think they can do enough with judge to get one of the wildcards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Scratch one pitcher off the trade deadline list. Nonsense, an injured player brings excitement to the Yankees front office - Bieber has to be on NYY radar now.

These big name trades got these teams to World Series though... verlander in 17, Grienke and Cole in 18 and 19. Mookie in 2020. Soler in 21. Getting a big name at this point could jolt the team like to did to others. Even though it did not get the Mariners to the World Series Castillo was a big move for them and I think would have helped the Yankees a lot.
