The trade season has begun! Old friend Chapman traded to Texas. No word if Chapman will still wear that sweatshirt under his jersey in Texas. Chapman had pretty good numbers in a non-stressful environment. Rangers gave up a AAA reliever with a 5+ ERA and a 17 year outfielder. |

Since the Royals basically nabbed Chappie to flip him, that 17-year old better turn out to be a star to make it it worthwhile. On the surface it sounds like the Rangers just traded some colorful beads for Manhattan… |

Another tribe did. So they made out okay. But your point is valid. Don't know what the Royals are thinking here. Maybe a salary dump. But if that's the case, why did they go get him in the first place? |

Another tribe did. So they made out okay. But your point is valid. Don't know what the Royals are thinking here. Maybe a salary dump. But if that's the case, why did they go get him in the first place? The pitcher the Royals received was a reliever for Texas but is really a starter, so I would think that Kansas City would try him in their rotation during the second half of the season. If he pitches well, it's a good deal for KC, but he's had Tommy John surgery twice already so who knows? It really shows that the unpredictable Chapman didn't have that much value. |
