Here’s my trade rumor. Despite all rumors you may hear or read, if Cashman does make any additions to the team they will be players you never thought of. Therefore trade rumors and speculation are not worthy of your time…

Cashman prints this out. Reads. Crumples. Goes back to reading his Harbor Freight sales flyer…

Miami might help us with some of our Deadwood: www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/07/sherman-marlins-will-have-resources-at-deadline.html...On the position player side, MLBTR’s Anthony Franco recently wrote about how an infield pursuit makes sense for the club, especially with third baseman Jean Segura hitting a paltry .202/.272/.252 this year. The outfield has been fairly strong overall but center field is a question mark right now. Jazz Chisholm Jr. recently landed on the injured list due to an oblique strain and his replacement, Jonathan Davis, is potentially done for the year due to knee surgery. Thankfully, Chisholm’s strain is apparently mild and he could potentially return shortly. Behind the plate, neither Nick Fortes nor Jacob Stallings are providing much offense but catching upgrades at the deadline can be tricky because an incoming backstop would have to learn an entirely new pitching staff on the fly. However Ng and her staff decide to play it, it’s surely an exciting time for the Marlins and their fans. The on-field results are the best they’ve had in quite some and they’re going into the deadline as obvious buyers with the owner signaling that notable moves will be possible. The extent of those resources and how they are deployed won’t be known for a few weeks, but the Marlins are positioned to be key players between now and the August 1 trade deadline. DO ME: Give them Donaldson and we pay the rest of his salary this year. Dangle Stanton in front of them where we pay the rest of his salary this year. We get a mid level Prospect or two back. Next meet with Bader (will be a FA -- I like everything about him except for his injuries). See if we can get him to sign a REASONABLE 2-3 yes extension. If no interest, Package with with Higgy and Sev to Miami for two good Prospects. I like Higgy but this opens the door for our Catchers in the Minor League to move on up. Also allows us to move up OF and another pitcher from the minor league teams. See if they have an interest in Franchy and Abreu (Abreu gave up on last night's game = it was written all over his body and facial expressions = even then announcers mentioned such = LOSER and losers go away).

Do you want to lose every game remaining giving up Donaldson, Stanton, Higgy, Severino, Bader, Franchy, and Abreu. Thats 7 people from the 25 man roster!!! Not saying most of them are great or anything, but no team would just trade away 7 people from their 25 man roster that is in 7 games over .500 and right in the playoff race.

With all due respect, only Bader on that list would be missed. Possible Stanton could turn things around, but he hasn't hit in a year. The rest are easily replaceable or won't be missed. Still, we're probably not getting rid of any of them. This is the worst hitting Yankee line-up I can recall since the late 60s.

If we are going to reach the WS, not just make the play offs, major changes are required. This is already the longest gap (2009 through 2022 so far) with out being in a WS I believe since we first reached the WS. Minor changes won't fix a broken system.

I admire your optimism anthony but I agree with the general sentiment of Dome. As Renfield says the only one that would be missed would be Bader and I doubt we could get anything better than him in a trade. I can't imagine any team giving us anything for the others. Isn't it about time some of our prospects turned into major league position players? We have Volpe and Cabrera on the team now. I like Volpe but his hitting production has not been good. Is Franchy Cordero the best outfielder we have available who can play. Noetsi has said major changes are required and in my opinion that will be a long term process. This is all on Cashman and his player acquisition and development. He has to go.

I just don't see what getting rid of 7 starters and bringing up 7 AAA guys at this point in the season does when they are right there in playoff contention. They have a chance to win the World Series this year still they aren't 20 games under .500 nor do the other teams look much better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I dunno how you can say this when every team in the AL looks mediocre as hell this year. Yankees have played well head to head against the Rays, Orioles, Rangers, and Jays. They have the pitching to win series. Theres def issues with the team, but if Judge comes back I dunno how you can count this team out in a pool of other mediocre teams.

Sounds like Bellinger might be a possibility Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That three year long slump is troubling. In 2020/2021/2022 combined he hit: 286 .203 .272 .376 .648 75 Even so, his power was never in doubt, he still ripped 42 HR and knocked in over 140 in about 1000 AB. And he’s good with the glove. He might come cheap and deliver big. Dumpster dive? Maybe. But this one could be big in YS3…

I'd take Bellinger in a heartbeat, he's 27 years old - he had an awesome first three years of career and is having a nice year this season. Yankees need more lefty power, the shift away from that in recent years has been naive by Cashman, Fishman and FO IMO.
