Cole has been much more deliberate than normal. It bit him right there on what was a strike out.

Good job by Cole to not let the clock violation bother him. He's been much better this year about not perseverating on bad luck and trouble. An unintended positive aspect of the pitch clock in my opinion. |

Eovaldi has really grown as a pitcher in mechanics and philosophy since being with the Yankees. He is much better at self-correcting and finding outs when he is not at the top of his game. I always liked him, but he used to really run into high pitch counts and foul ball after foul ball. He has really become a good pitcher. Would that have happened had he remained with the Yankees - not likely. But, I would not have been disappointed had we gotten him back after his stint with Boston.
