Boone has to be thinking about pulling Schmidt at 4 2/3. He has to be frustrated from last night I can imagine grumpy Boone mumbling to himself, "Stupid perfect game. A win is a win. Silly leftover tradition doesn't meet today's statistical understanding." |

On any day with bright sunlight, I would be wearing the sunglasses. Glare always has bothered me, especially when I was playing tennis and had to toss the ball into the sun, then be blinded for a split second on the return. I much preferred to play during the evening under the lights. Glare bothers me too. I always had the photogray lenses and they did the job. I moved out to the Bay Area for a bit in 1972 and went to lot of games at the then-new Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. They had more day games than just about any stadium this side of Wrigley Field. Many pleasant memories of that place. And they were a great team then. |

Well, we know that Donaldson can hit an 80 mph straight change up on a tee over the middle of the plate. If only he could get a steady diet of those to feast upon.

I miss jumping on my motorcycle, weaving through traffic on the 101, parking just outside of the stadium, and walking through the parking lot to an A's game. Always a laid back atmosphere in the afternoon. The only drawback was carrying my helmet with me. |
