Boone has some strange ideas about deploying relief pitchers before an off day. Too many scrubs in the pen at the moment. I suppose that to be because the Yanks are reluctant to burn options on some of the top arms at the higher levels of the minors. I’d rather burn the options what with being in contention. Another random thought: I’ve seen umpires send pitchers to the dugout to get loose laces fixed on their gloves, and gold chains removed. I have no beef with a pitcher having hair like Clevenger does, but shouldn’t they have to tie it back while pitching??? |
