We’ve been too good at loading the sacks without scoring lately… 😡 When you farm rice, you have to walk levees and fill sacks with mud to seal the water in the fields. Then, that night, nutria, muskrats, and rats then make new holes in the same levees for you to fill other sacks and seal the leak again. If you wonder why I never wanted to farm, that ritual was a great influence. It seems odd that nutria are not a staple of our diet… |

Volpe not looking good at the plate lately. That period when he was hitting everything on the nose and having zero luck may have put him into some bad habits. One is dipping his head during the pitch. Pitchers want batters to change their eye level, but do not do it for them. Hitting with your eyes and head on plane is difficult enough. He hasn’t been one of our biggest problems, but I still wonder what things may be like if Peraza had won the SS job out of ST… Thatvwas what I wanted before ST started, but as time rolled along it became obvious it wasn’t meant to be… Peraza has to hit if he wants to beat out Volpe. So far, he has wilted during the competition. I would have preferred that he had played third base splitting with DJ, but Donaldson was in the way. |

Nice double play turn by Volpe. Laz Diaz is giving Cease three or four inches on the left side of the plate and nothing to Cole on the right side of the plate.

The problem was that emu meat is all brown, and most Americans like that white breast meat. I know I do. And hold the horny police here, kay… were talking emu tits, and they do nothing for me… 🤓 |

True, but Volpe got way more reps in ST… Not to say he didn’t earn them, but Peraza lost on what for him was a small sample… Volpe only had like 55 at bats, but his OPS was over a thousand, not to mention that he handled the position defensively and ran the bases like a jackrabbit. Lastly, the veterans took to him really fast and praised his maturity and energy. At least Peraza was called up and had a chance to stay had he hit at all. Florial is in the Bermuda Triangle of Yankee brass with zero chance not matter how he's played. |
