Just got back from grocery shopping. If you can listen to David Cone's podcast "Toeing the Slab," this latest episode was really enjoyable having on Rick Cerone. Some really good stories from Cerone, who was really an underrated catcher in his day. He would be worth tons catching these days.

Just got back from grocery shopping. If you can listen to David Cone's podcast "Toeing the Slab," this latest episode was really enjoyable having on Rick Cerone. Some really good stories from Cerone, who was really an underrated catcher in his day. He would be worth tons catching these days. Cerone had a really good year in 1980, his first year with the Yanks and the first full season without Thurman and then a year later, was their catcher during their World Series run.

He was a solid defensive catcher, but you don't play in the big leagues from 1975 to 1992 unless you are doing something right.
