The Persian Gulf version of that is the Bahrainis praising Allah that Kuwait is there to keep them from being the most boring country in the GCC. Actually in that part of the world it's fighting words to say Persian Gulf. You are sharply reminded that the name of that body of water is Arabian Gulf. I knew one guy in my dorm who was from Kuwait. He had red hair, a red beard, and blue eyes. Spoke Arabic and English. Very devout and tenaciously disciplined. I recall his name was Moneer Saleem Albaba. Almost all Kuwaitis go to college in the US. For some reason back in the 90s a lot of them were going to Middle Tennessee State. Quite a cultural change from the Gulf.

Quite a cultural change from the Gulf. I always wondered if there was any enmity between East Tennessee State and Middle Tennessee State. Moneer was cordial, polite, and civil. He was very guarded, though. Always a skeptical look on his face, never really close to anyone outside of his Middle Eastern circle.

Where is Edison Lighthouse when you need him? Nobody knows where our base runners go. Hah, British bubble gum from 1969. Too early for you Rizz! Actually the guy behind that was also behind "My Baby Loves Lovin" and "United We Stand" and "Gimme Dat Ding." Just labeled as different groups. At the same time there was a US counterpart named Ron Dante who was essentially the Archies, the Cuff Links, Ohio Express and many others I am not recalling at the moment.

And we also had Yummy, Yummy, Yummy I've got love in my tummy And I've got some love for you. My brother said that I was playing 45s when I was two years old, never understanding how I could find the right ones among all the records because I couldn't read at that age.
