The closest real town is Marion. It’s been a while since I was out there, the name of the postal area escapes me at the moment. Union Mills, I think…

As for Ruthie’s condition, our doctor is not sure a lower altitude will solve her issues. Early age smoking, possible COPD. I guess we aren’t going to plan to move at this point after all. Just keep getting her tests done. We might move all the way down to sea-level and she may still ha d the same issues. Medicare will cover a POC like Inogen if her doctor prescribes it.

Ruthie’s echocardiogram came back “normal”.
So no worries there. Mammogram again soon, I think later this month. The woman is unbreakable…
My sugar is moving upward. Guess I’ll have to monitor more clos and see what I’m doing wrong… 👀

I have my “challenges”, but things could always be worse…a lot worse.
My brother-in-law…enlisted in the Marine Corps out of high school, which eventually paid for his college education/degree. Took a job with a large company and stayed there his entire career, moving up thru the ranks to a comfortable middle-management position he was content with.
Literally built his beautiful log home on 7 acres himself with help from friends & family…stayed there and raised a wonderful family until his retirement with a very nice pension at age 55.
Sold the house, downsized to a fully paid for smaller, more manageable home, pocketed the rest, which was substantial, with plans to travel, etc.
Very shortly after retirement he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. As symptoms got worse, he was finally diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, which has been described as Parkinson’s on steroids.
He’s been in what I can only describe as a conscious coma for the past few years. The once strapping, healthy, active man is now confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak, eat or take care of any bodily functions himself.
Life, of course, ain’t fair…never know where it’ll take you, so I try to take one day at a time and count my blessings.
