I only eat potatoes, soup, rice, and potatoes, rice, soup I drink too much coke, but will limit it to one a day. Probably exercising more would help. Get some exercise noetsi! It does wonders for your mental health! I recommend the same to everyone on this board.

After a while you’ll forget about Coke. That crap rots you from the inside out and loads you up with sugar. Too much starch like the potatoes and rice turn into sugars, too. That can bog you down, even if you don’t have a sugar problem. You need to get some protein in your diet. If you’re not into meats take vitamins or find another source…

FOUND THIS ON FB.
I did not know this. I have local honey in my tea. Alwaysusing a metal spoon 🥄 🫣😬😱🐝🍯
Did you know that one of the world's first coins had a bee symbol?
Did you know that honey contains live enzymes?
Did you know that in contact with a metal spoon, these enzymes die? The best way to eat honey is with a wooden spoon; if you can't find one, use a plastic spoon.
Did you know that honey contains a substance that helps the brain work better?
Did you know that honey is one of the few foods on earth that alone can sustain human life?
Did you know that bees saved people from starvation in Africa?
That a spoonful of honey is enough to keep a man alive for 24 hours?
Did you know that propolis produced by bees is one of the most powerful natural antibiotics?
Did you know that honey has no expiry date because it’s already been digested?
Did you know that the bodies of the world's greatest emperors were buried in gold coffins, then covered in honey to prevent putrefaction?
Did you know that the term "Honeymoon" (honeymoon) comes from the fact that the bride and groom consumed honey for fertility after their marriage?
Did you know that a bee lives less than 40 days, visits at least 1000 flowers and produces less than a teaspoon of honey, but for her it is the work of a lifetime.
Thank you precious bees!

But do drink more water before and after the Coke. It’s so important to our health to stay hydrated. Florida is a hog place. You have to replace the water you lose through your pores…

It’s so important to our health to stay hydrated. Florida is a hog place. You have to replace the water you lose through your pores… Health issues?. Well, sure. I'm a lung cancer survivor, and left most of my right lung in a hospital a few years ago. It happens. I get checkups every 3 months to catch any recurrence. Glad to be alive, but life does get harder as I age. I'm sympathetic to insomnia problems. I have had restless legs for many years. Potassium and Magnesium supplements seem to help some. On nights when it's really bad, I am awake all night, and finally more or less collapse the next day in the early afternoon. It's not fun, but I haven't found a way to defeat it. If you have never had restless legs, consider yourself blessed. The legs jerk and jump uncontrollably, usually just as you might be able to get to sleep. It's a terrible feeling, but not life-threatening serious. I wish good health to everyone here, but most of us probably have to deal with certain issues.

They’re not as bad as they used to be, or I should say the symptoms of the neuropathy are less frequent. Still, at times out of the blue the feeling like an electric shock will jolt me, sometimes my toes or the top of my foot will feel like there’s a hot poker against them. It’s also one of those deals where I can be almost asleep and kind of those shocks will make me jolt, sometimes calling out in pain. Kicking my leg. Wakes Ruth up, but luckily she’s one that can go back to sleep in minutes. For me, it resets my clock and I have to start the whole wind down process again, often getting out of bed…

Update on the sleep issues. Since I wasn’t happy with my meds and the doctor never called me back, I determined that I’m going to try to solve this issue without chemicals, nor herbs. Last night I went to bed around 12:45, feeling really tired. I went to sleep pretty quickly. The dogs called me at 5:30. I went back to bed and slept until about 9:45. It was amazing! I’ve also decided to fight off the urge to nap.
I’d be thrilled if this was the start of finding a sleep rhythm…

I get restless leg syndrome. I have to try Potassium and/or Magnesium.

Hi Kay. Yes, the Magnesium and Potassium supplements do have some efficacy in reducing the restless legs. I hope it might help you. Not a cure-all, but any relief is appreciated.
By the way. It's time for me to say what I have often felt here. That you are a genuinely good man, and one I would choose for a friend were it possible. I sincerely wish you the best of health and of life. regards.

Night 2 with no sleep meds. Hit the hay around 1:30. Slept a bit light and fitfully. Up with the pups at 6:30. Back to bed and slept a bit better from 7:40-11:30.
Funny, my morning sleep was interrupted by a call from my doctor’s nurse in reply to my call last Friday. The doc recommended that I up my dose of Trazadone to 15mg for a week. If that doesn’t work, try 20mg the next week.
I’m going to stick to my plan. I’m not all that particular about a bedtime at this point. I just want to make sure I feel good and tired when I lay down. I can hope to adjust the bed time later.
I wasn’t happy that I slept so late this morning, but it was a result of the light sleeping during the nighttime hours… improbably should have set a 9 AM alarm and arisen then. A rare cloudy morning here didn’t help either…

That will do wonders for your sleep. No desire to do either. I keep pretty busy around here with Ruthie incapable of doing much. House cleaning, running errands and grocery shopping, plus outdoor chores keep me from becoming a total couch potato. It’s all good. I like having things to do…

Another night of light sleep that started around 1:30-2:00 and extended deep into morning, but no sleep aid. If I could just get to bed earlier this might work out okay…
