Excitement galore here. The new dog bed has arrived. Actually, as is quite common here, it was delivered to a neighbor’s house, who notified me when I was out getting the mail. It required assembly, and despite my 12-thumb hands I was able to accomplish the task before the game started. Rosie got on it while I was on it. Ruby has sniffed it suspiciously and walked away, climbing up on the old battered settee. She had no clue it’s soon to be out the door. If all else fails, I found it comfortable to sit on… 🐕 We bought several dog beds over the years, but Sarah ended up buying a twin-bed mattress. With a waterproof mattress cover, that has outlasted everything. These two monsters would destroy that. The one I bought has an extra heavy duty vinyl “hammock” on a solid aluminum frame that I bolted together. There are no loose pieces of fabric as all fit within the frame work. I sunk $200 in it, so I hope it has staying power. BTW: Back in the days when I had the two shelties in addition to other dogs I once got them a mattress that someone was tossing out. The shelties sliced and diced that sucker to bits… |

Florial hasn't really settled in offensively, but he has four RBI in only six games. Picking his spots. He has looked fine in the field though.

Florial hasn't really settled in offensively, but he has four RBI in only six games. Picking his spots. He has looked fine in the field though. His walk tonight was his fourth in those six games as well. I like seeing him lay off crap pitches. One other thing I’ve noticed is that he’s big enough and fast enough to be an intimidating baserunner. He does screw around on the basepaths… (Unless something’s going on after the lights go off that we aren’t privy to). .. 🍿 |

The shelties sliced and diced that sucker to bits… Inside, our dogs only destroyed dog toys or food that we forgot on the counter that should have been in the pantry. When Jackie (Black Lab) was young, she chewed the corners off of our outside patio table, making a rectangle more oval shaped. She also chewed a foot off of one of the handles of my wheel barrow and the seat to my weight bench in the garage. I miss my dogs. |
