This lousy weather is so not cool for all those moms out there, especially the ones that are Yankee fans.

Could be a real Mother of a day...
M is for the many things she gave me...
OTHER is for the other things she gave me...
Put them all together they spell MOTHER...
A word that means the world to me...
Okay, that's the short version, but who has time to type the whole thing? I was trying to think of where I might have heard this version the first time. Seems like maybe Steve Martin? I recall Dean Martin doing a version where there were actually words for each letter, but each one mentioned the "things she game me", like "M" is for the many things she gave me, "O" is for the other things she gave me, and so on...
I wish my own relationship with my mother had been better, but as my father would tell you, if he were still living...she was tough to deal with. If you have a loved one with depression, do your best to reach out. As a child (and we are children for life to our parents) it's always hard to take the lead in a relationship without completely imposing yourself on a parent, but they need help sometimes. Painfully sometimes there is nothing you can do for them. I know. I think I, and my siblings all did reach out, but each time our hands were bitten. We eventually decided it was better not to but our hands through the bars she built around herself so we didn't have to deal with the pain of rejection. Somehow, she seemed to "enjoy" her condition and being able to feel as though we were the ones rejecting her. Maybe that way she felt less guilt. I don't know...

We have a discrepancy. Baseball Press has the number 9 hitter as Gleyber Torres while YESNetwork has it as Ronald Torreyes. We'll see who's right I guess.

In some ways, it's easy to confuse the names...But the people, the players are completely different...Was it John Sterling that got them confused a couple of weeks ago? In any event, I'd like to see the Hicks-Austin-Andujar group get going again. It's nice getting some production down in that part of the lineup...that seems to set up the big boys to finish off the opposition...

Toe is starting with Torres just getting a day off. Game should finally start in about 5 minutes.
