No surprise, but Gerrit Cole easily wins the Cy Young. Only the 6th Yankee win the award. Unanimous too, as it should have been. The other Yankee CYA winners were Bob Turley in 1958, Whitey Ford in 1961, Sparky Lyle in 1977, Ron Guidry in 1978 and Roger Clemens in 2001.

Congrats to Gerrit! Well deserved! Now let’s not waste him and Judge’s primes. Go get Soto!

Well-deserved. Cole finally gave the Yankees a full season of ACE performance. No slumps, no gopher sickness, no loss of focus when he got in trouble…

Congrats to Gerrit! Well deserved! Now let’s not waste him and Judge’s primes. Go get Soto! I usually wind up typing Gerritt. I’m sure that’s because in the greenhouse trade my first boss was named Geritt Van Hoevan. Old habits can die hard…

Well deserved. Sometimes in sports the names just keep getting the award. In the case of Judge and Cole they both went out and truly dominated the sport in their wins.
