Andy Martino: Scouts grade Soto’s as a solid average arm, 55 on 20-80 scale. OF coach Rojas thinks it plays better because of the spin he gets on his throws. The throw was professional grade but I think that play got made by Soto charging the ball and getting it off cleanly and as important, where he was positioned. Exactly...

I saw the replay, it was also a very athletic play by Trevino. I'm not his biggest fan and I like Wells, but not sure Wells makes that play.

Wells is much bigger than Trevino, so he would have had a decided reach advantage to attempt to make that play.

Chris Kirschner: A few weeks ago, Oswaldo Cabrera told me how watching Juan Soto in the cage helped inspire a change in himself. So far, that change has worked.

A bad throw or a botched DP at that point in the game could've been disastrous.

With Gleyber's injury, we should see Cabrera and Berti in the lineup tonight. I'm looking forward to that actually, as I do not remember Berti at all. Also, I would have hated to bench our hottest hitter, as you know Boone would have done if Gleyber would not have been hit by a pitch.

Probably needs a couple days to get right again… Yep. As I believe Rizz pointed out, probably started to swell which would've made it tough to get a good grip on the ball. Also...not crazy about him in the leadoff spot, but there doesn't appear to be any options at this point. I wouldn't mess with moving Volpe or Cabrera. If Gleyber sits tonight it'll be interesting to see who hits leadoff.
