Whitey was obviously a great pitcher, but a little before my time. Plus I know a few guys who had bad experiences when meeting him, so I went with those I watched and enjoyed. Gotcha. I didn’t realize you were limiting this to people in your lifetime. What year did you start watching the Yanks? …I started in ‘63. Had it not been for an odd circumstance of my youth I would have probably started in about… maybe ‘59 or ‘60… I missed ‘61 by that much, Chief… 🤓 I'm not limiting completely to those I saw, but in the pitchers case I did. Gehrig is one of my all-time favorite Yankees, though I didn't see him. I started around 1970-71. Probably why Murcer and Munson are my 2 favorites.

I hated Chickenpox. Have you had your Shingles shots? … No, and they have been offered to me the last couple years. Should I get them?

Have you had your Shingles shots? … No, and they have been offered to me the last couple years. Should I get them? I haven’t got mine yet, but I should. Most insurances now cover them. One of my friends, in fact the fellow that recently passed away had them. He says the ad that says you don’t want them is correct. I think it’s a couple hundred bucks without insurance, so check first if that’s an issue. I think the flu shot, SARS, RSV, and shingles are important. The COVID shots are still a mystery to me. I had the first two shots and then discontinued when off things started popping up about them.. I’ve had none of the above yet… but should.., Ruthie had had all except SARS and COVID…

Does this say "Baseball’s Greatest Shortstop" OR Baseball’s Greatest Shortstop-Turned-Third Baseman? Honus Wagner, Ernie Banks, and Ozzie Smith may have an argument with the first. Ripken may have an argument with second.

I listened to a podcast the other day with Tim Kurkjian, A.J. Pierzynski, that one little guy that wears the bow tie, and a couple other guys. They were discussing next year's Hall of Fame class, which will feature CC Sabathia. All agreed Sabathia deserved to be in the Hall. Then, AJ Pierzynski commented, "Have you guys ever compared Sabathia's numbers to Andy Pettitte? They are not that different. Why is Pettitte not getting more recognition by the voters?" They also discussed the fact that Don Mattingly's numbers match Joe Mauer's - both having careers altered short by injury. Mauer with concussions, Mattingly with back problems.
