All in all, he appears to be solid at worst. If he has the bat we're hoping to see, he can certainly be a useful starting third baseman (please be a bit more selective). I would suppose the primary question the Yankees will be facing going forward would be if Andujar or Drury will be the better long term choice. If we assume Drury's health will be a positive there is an interesting comparison to be made. I remember that in the early season the comment was made that Drury was more comfortable at second base. Well, his comfort doesn't appear to matter so much now that Torres has shown his skill set. So, is an "out of position" Drury better than Andujar? Is his bat as good or better? We know that he is far more selective at the plate. I haven't seen enough of him at third base to have any opinion at all. I wonder, which position is he playing in the minors? Hmmm. That could be interesting... I agree with this. No one is expecting Andujar to be a gold glover, but we were told he was a defensive liability and that hasn't been the case. He has a good throwing arm and he makes the plays he should make. I wish the Yanks would have just given him the 3rd base job from the start of the season and not even had made the trade for Drury, especially with the way Taylor Widener is throwing at AA.

Is that really the scout on Andujar? Admittedly I don’t really follow the minor league system closely anymore but I didn’t recall him having a knock on defense. Poor defense was the excuse the Yankees gave for not playing Andujar sooner, but we haven't seen any evidence of this while he's been in the Bronx. He sure looks solid in the field to me. As much as they haven’t played that game in the past I thought it was clear they were keeping him there for service time. For what it is worth, I like Drury as well.

Drury surprised me, and I also like him. In either case, the Yankees will have a decent fielding third baseman who can also hit...what a luxury...To have one is nice, to have two is great...Come to think of it, with Didi and Torres we have two very capable two-way short stops as well...And now, I would dare say that if needed we have a good platoon at first base with Bird and Austin...
