Coached against his brother, Darnell, who also had a very brief stay with the Yanks, in Arapahoe Youth League (AYL). Wasn’t Darnell even faster? …Or at least more daring on the bases?… Couldn't say. Didn't see either play much MLB, but Darnell was a very fast, elite running back...at least at youth league level.

OF - Otis Nixon, 1983 Speedy outfielder would appear in 13 games for the Yankees in 1983, mostly as a late-game defensive replacement and pinch runner. Would carve out a decent career for himself, playing 17 seasons. Most notable years were in Atlanta from '91-93. Would bounce around the league after that ending his career playing for 9 teams, and stealing 620 bases.

View AttachmentAlthough I’ve noted this here before, with so many new posters around, the 620 SB represents the most career SB By anyone who is not in the HOF. I don’t advocate him being there, but it does indicate what kind of speed he had and how well he weaponized it despite a bat that didn’t help him much…

OF/DH - Pete Incaviglia, 1997 One of the AL's better power hitters of the mid-late 80's with the Rangers bounced around MLB in the 90's including a brief 5 game cameo in the Bronx in 1997.

3B - Angel Berroa, 2009 The 2003 AL Rookie of the Year with the Royals was their starting SS for 4 years. Peaked in his rookie year, then was mediocre after that. Moved on to LA in 2008, then a 21 game stint in the Bronx in 2009 before being released in June. He'd catch on with the Mets a couple of days later before being released a month later, ending his MLB career.

Yes, his given, legal middle name was actually Bubba. Sad story, though, dealing with depression and a number of personal problems at the end of and after his career.
