I've been embarrassed to admit it but this thread has gone right over my head. What does deep cuts mean? More or less the same as the deep cuts on an album. That would be the dongs that got little airplay, and may be more or less forgotten. It played itself out for most of us long ago… |

I've been embarrassed to admit it but this thread has gone right over my head. What does deep cuts mean? I think it started out as remembering relatively obscure ex-Yankee players, and long ago took a turn for the worse. |

Ok, I went through the tread and surprisingly I had thrown a couple names out there. So at one point I must have understood the purpose of the thread or I was just simply throwing names out there. Anyway, most of you are probably too young to remember Johnny Calison and Jimmy Ray Hart. |

Two players I hoped would reenergize their careers but didn’t… Hart's legs were shot, from injuries while playing for the Giants. Veteran All-Star OF Johnny Callison was obtained from the Cubs to be a Reserve OF and PH. He would hit .258 in 1972, but in 1973, he was hitting only .176 and was release to make room for newly acquire Mike Began from the A's. |
