I’d have passed on a one year rental. Too much… ------ Burns is a top of the rotation starter but he will undoubtedly test the market next year. Jones is a rare prospect, that we seldom (see Aaron Judge) have an opportunity to draft. We will regret giving him away for (possibly) a one year rental!!! ----//Oburg Bob

Absolutely agree. Most of us know the importance of keeping a back-up for our computer files, a simple and common sensical precaution. Jones is that back-up for Soto more than likely taking a magic carpet ride after this coming season. Even if Jones doesn't pan out (unlikely), he's more than worth the risk of letting him go and having no soon-ready, strong LH hitting OF in our system, imo. (The Martian should lock up LF, regardless, so of course keep him.)

Thats all we hsve been doing the last ten years , waiting on one prospect after another . First it was the core after 17 , then it guys like chance adams , frazier , andujar , and florial . Then after that it schmidt , king and garcia , and then it was volpe , peraza and cabrera and dominguez . Nearly all of yhose guys havent panned out or havent panned out yet and no pennants or ws championships to show for it. When will you people realize that you cant keep pinning your hopes on lottery tickets ?! When will it be worth it to go after a title ? How can you possibly say its not worth it when the primes of judge and cole are being wasted ?! The fact that soto is not guaranteed after this year is EXACTLY why you go and get burnes too ! If you want to win a ws you have to worry about the here and now . Not 3 or 4 years from now .

Andy Martino said the Yankees will make a trade for a SP in spring training. I would suspect Beiber to be here by opening day and this the season with an elbow injury.
Cashman loves trading for guys with health issues.

Cashman loves trading for guys with health issues. thats because they come “ much cheaper “ than the guys they actually need . And the sad part is that a lot of yankee fans here would cheer that trade because they got to keep a guy who hasnt played above A ball yet . but on a serious note , i dont think they will trade for a sp until closer to the deadline .

I’d have passed on a one year rental. Too much… For Jones and Warren is ridiculous compared to what the O's gave up (2 x 26 year old rookies)

I wouldnt be surprised at all of Yerry de Los Santos establishes himself well this season. The Yanks love their sinkerballers…
Yep, they certainly seem to be stocking up on them.

I think I have this right. In Bouton’s infamous book “Ball Four” the pitching staff was going over the Orioles line up and when Frank Robinson’s name came up they suggestion was made to pitch him underground. Maybe that’s the plan. We’ll just pitch everybody underground…

Hearing this reminds me of those “What I did on my summer vacation” reports in school. Mine was always the same. Stayed home. We had no money, we had no car. Play in the dirt, wash the dirt off, the okay in the dirt the the next day… But I had no regrets. You can’t miss that which you never had nor desired..

I dont get why he is such a highly ranked prospect He's going to be 26 years old and batted .265 in AA before lighting up AAA at age 24-25 Everyone lit up AAA last year ... Florial was about the same age and also lit up AAA last season

And warren hasnt proven anything yet . I think its a fair price for a cy young winning ace if you are going all on for a title this year . I mean judge and cole arent getting younger , how much longer can you possibly keep kicking the can down the road ?

The equivalent of a Faustian bargain for sure, imo: for one very maybe appearance in the WS you give up years later of missing whom you gave up, and even you re-sign one of them for multi-millions and years, you have a player or two blocking other future promising minor-league players in your system b/c there's no room in the inn? It ain't me, babe, no, no....
