Oh good. We should have traded him for Burnes… 🤓 Gleyber + Jones... Pee in the pool…

obviously these games mean nothing but always looking for positives. great debut for trevino. soto demolishing a ball. guy is wrecking machine. gleyber looking good. nice hustle taking that extra base. stanton on base 3 out of 4 abs. ocab getting 3 hits. good to see schmidt go back out there and pitch well. looked like a different pitcher.
was a bit concerned that judge was moved after 2 abs (both ks) but apparently that was the plan.
though like most, think we need another starter, but way too early to panic. pitchers are trying things and just building themselves up. wait til the games count before i worry.

I agree Bumper about pitchers working on things so the boxscores don't concern me too much. History has told us we are going to need 8 or 9 starters to get through a season. Doesn't seem as there is as much depth behind the starters as there was even last year. Maybe someone steps up and/or Cash adds a starting pitcher. I know conventional wisdom is the Yankees are good at finding BP arms so the pen will work itself out. I'm not convinced this Pen will be a strength as it's constructed today. Hope I'm wrong. If Cash doesn't add a UT infielder, than Cabrera will stick because of his versatility but I think there is a better than even chance we add a veteran infielder before opening day.

fwiw like the spring training rule where you can remove a starter, bring in a reliever to close out an inning. and then the starter can return the next inning. both schmidt and cortes used it and pitched much better when they returned. good for the starter to get his work in. of course don't like seeing my starter get blown out of an inning ...

Wouldn't be surprised if they reach a deal later in the year... I’m going to do my level best to hold my tongue regarding Gleyber this season… ------ I have been critical of Glyber's lack of focus and hustle but am hopeful that he is developing more maturity and not just putting on a show because he is in his walk year. It was nice to see him sprint out of the box and stretch his hit into a double. ------ Oburg Bob

Soto stood and watched the first ball he hit this spring before jogging around first for a double ... and people want to sign him asap. Soto does this all of the time ... it's part of his game. As far as im concerned he's entilted to it. Or we could replace him with Cabrera who is always hustling (for his MLB life) because he has to It's the grass is always greener rule ... last year Yankee fans were screaming to trade inconsistent Gleyber (the Yankees most constent player in 2023) for Ian Happ who Cubs fans were screaming to trade because he is inconsistent

Ya mean putting on a "show" by his .333/.348/.919 ST slash? Is that what you mean??? *BTW...your "block" doesn't seem to be working.

He's so bad he's a detriment to the team. B.) He's so good he'll be too expensive to keep. C.) He's so good he'll bring a great deal in return if traded.
