I recall feeling an earthquake in MD once. No one else in the house noticed, but we had glasses tinkling in a built-in wall hutch. When I said something I got the normal reaction (for our house).
“What the F you talking about, stupid? Ain’t no earthquake.”
The news told them all later that “Stupid” did indeed feel an earthquake. No apologies though and I was still stupid. Ah, what a delightful childhood. I was about 15…
