Then, they will make a discovery that the disease is more easily transmitted after the use of Listerine.
Since this is your reaction, then naturally you stopped engaging in unprotected sexual activity as soon as AIDs was discovered. Right? Right???
A man that lives by himself with so little contact with the outside world has so little to fear that paranoia grips him first...

Lonely Boy
Andrew Gold
He was born on a summer day 1951 And with a slap of a hand He landed as an only son His mother and father said what a lovely boy We'll teach him what we learned Ah yes just what we learned We'll dress him up warmly and We'll send him to school It'll teach him how to fight To be nobody's fool
Oh, oh what a lonely boy Oh what a lonely boy Oh what a lonely boy
In the summer of '53 his mother Brought him a sister And she told him we must attend to her needs She's so much younger than you Well he ran down the hall and he cried Oh how could his parents have lied When they said he was an only son He thought he was the only one
Oh, oh what a lonely boy Oh what a lonely boy Oh what a lonely boy
Goodbye mama, goodbye to you Goodbye papa I'm pushing on through He left…

I had a different reaction to this. Considering his ability and age and that very below market contract I thought this was a great deal for Pittsburgh. Not sure what the equivalent package would have been in NYY prospects but I probably pull the trigger on that.

The Pirates haven't been able to develop Glasnow and he's looking more and more like he'll never live up to the hype, and he has been hit repeatedly in the majors. Meadows is a solid prospect, but you gotta give up something for a pitcher like Archer.

My reaction was, Who in the hell are those guys? So naturally, that means I would have been more than willing to trade them for Archer. In fact, you guys want a couple more guys? I’m sick of paying them and feeding them, pick a couple more... (:

Really confusing we didn't get a OF spare part at deadline. If Yankees head into Boston and next few weeks with Shane Robinson as their 4th OFer, that's not ideal. The depth we are missing (whether it be from trades or injuries) is a bit alarming.

I think Frazier’s expected return is the most logical reason we didn’t trade for anyone...Why send valuable prospects out for an OF we’ll have no room for when Frazier/Judge return from the DL? That would have amounted to an obligation that’s greater than the need...

At the same time he’s still having migraine symptoms related to a concussion that happened in spring training so it is hard to know where that optimism is coming from.

I wouldn't be expecting Frazier until the end of August, if that. It's a serious issue and everybody involved should take extreme caution with his return.

Living in the Pittsburgh area, I would say that it was an overpay (that will get worse when the PTBNL is announced; it is someone who is reported that will "sting" Bucco fans) by a team desperate to give off the appearance of actually trying to better their club. The fans down here are sick of the team constantly nickel and diming the MLB roster, and have shown their displeasure at the gate. The local media have been giving them hell; even their notoriously homerish flagship station. If this was a fanbase used to positive front office activity, they'd be pissed at giving up two decent to very good prospects for a pitcher who looks to be in decline.

Let's bump this up for this year's trade talk.
Marcus Stroman? What would it cost?
Report: Blue Jays have spoken with Yankees about Marcus Stroman
With the trade deadline coming up next month, the rumours are starting to swirl and it’s no surprise that Marcus Stroman’s name is coming up.
Stroman is performing well this year, is just 28 year old, makes a reasonable $7.4 million with club control through 2020 and isn’t carrying many injury red flags. That makes him a pretty appealing package.
According to Ken Davidoff of the New York Post, the Blue Jays and Yankees have discussed a trade involving the starter. Although some clubs prefer to shy away from inter-division trades, Toronto and New York linked up on the J.A. Happ deal last summer and are far enough away from each other in their competitive cycles that it’d be hard to call them rivals.
Moving Stroman makes sense for the Blue Jays as he’ll only be around for another year-and-a half-before he requires a costly extension. If the team would rather cash in on his trade value than pay up, this is the time - especially considering he has a sparkling 3.31 ERA this year with 1.5 WAR to his name.
The Yankees, on the other hand, could use a reliable addition to a rotation that’s dealt with a number of injuries this year. Stroman is a surefire top-four option that would be a significant addition to their playoff rotation, bringing a solid postseason pedigree to boot.
