Let’s say that I’m not giving a guy that’s batting .333 with and OBP over .400 in AAA away for nothing, Even in MLB, he’s got a .379 OBP. He can be a premium bat. I think he should have gotten a better chance to give us what we needed from the left side... Ford doesn't have an available roster spot in NY, does he?....what would you do with Voit?....platoon?...Edwin and LeMahieu play first as well, so I don't think the Yankees want to add another 1B...the 25 man roster is squeezing some position players right now... If some of the GM's see what you do in Ford, it will be good for the Yankees...…... He won’t headline a deal, but he should be intriguing enough to ride along with a strong lower level pitching prospect to appeal to another GM’s greed...

www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/on-the-block-whos-most-likely-to-be-moved-before-the-trade-deadline/ar-AADecZp There’s a little more than a month to go until the trade deadline, which means that there’s juuuuust enough out there to begin really sketching out the potential moves—all subject to change, likely within the week, and fueled by plenty of speculation.
But, hey, if six weeks out isn’t the time to engage in a little speculation, when is? We’ve already looked at the various teams who might be buyers and sellers, so here, we’re turning our attention to a sampling of players who might be moved (or not), and we’ll keep taking the temperature as the deadline draws closer: READ MORE...

I guess is I was Detroit, I'd ask a lot for Boyd too, but let's not get crazy. This is just the beginning for Torres, he has future star written all over him.

It made me wonder who I would trade Torres for. Even up. I’m having a hard time answering that question. Maybe Chris Paddack on the Padres or Vlad Jr.

I’d think it would wind up being a multi-player package. Yeah. A package for certain. And maybe a beverage...Top the deal off with a nice, refreshing beverage, my friend. If you do, we have a deal...

I believe you guys are saying "an even up deal" in that there is equal value for both trade partners....that is pretty hard... If the question is rephrased as to what specific player would you trade Torres for, then I would trade him for Max Scherzer....we still have a very good infield, and the chances of wining the WS this year gets much better...

I meant a one for one deal. Like trading Torres without anyone else for another player. Those were the only two I could think of. I actually wouldn’t trade him even up for Scherzer given the contracts.

I’d also have a hard time making that trade because of the age differential...Scherzer is still extremely good, but is likely ready to begin his decline phase, in a few years he’ll be a memory...Torres could continue to haunt us for 10-12 years... As far as trading youth for a championship, Torres is also capable of being a major contributor to that and more. If you’re trading youth for experience and higher skill level, it should be less experienced youth with an element of risk for the buyer. I wasn’t as bully on Torres last season, or over the winter. He’s matured remarkably fast, and his SS play made my eyes pop!...

Boone has been hitting him at the bottom of the lineup, but I think eventually he make his way to the third spot and stay there for a long time.

No doubt a deal that went awry for Boston, yet if I were the GM, I could accept that because Bagwell was untested at the MLB level... that’s going to happen from time to time. We’ve lost Fred McGriff and Willie McGee for small change, and that’s okay too. I think a way closer comp to dealing Torres for Scherzer would be the old Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio trade. I say that even though Brock was a poor defender...a fact lost on many because the focus was on his long career, stolen bases, and 3000 hits...I believe many assumed he was a good fielder because he was fast...

wow....if Scherzer was ineffective or soon injured, it would be a terrible trade....but I would certainly do a 1 for 1 trade of Torres for Scherzer, in the expectation of a World Series title or two...but, I respect your reluctance to give a burgeoning star in trade....
