I would deal Frazier for Boyd even up. Not sure Detroit makes that deal though Maybe Frazier and some other B prospects would do. ….Tyler Wade....

Tier one prospect Mike Ford is untouchable... Tier one is not right for this prospect....the Yankees are creating a new, and exclusive prospect rating level, and Mike Ford is the only one on it....Tier 0 prospect.....

More and more my expectation is that any pitching trade we make would be for an under the radar candidate... Price is going to be a major issue, both in salary and talent cost. Cashman usually wants to have his cake and to eat it, too. Not only that, but he usually finds a way to do it... you're right about that...Cashman trades are usually a surprise....I saw a suggestion on MLB.com that Albert Abreu might bring Wheeler to the Yanks...I know Abreu is highly regarded....what do you think of that by way of discussion? I would trade Abreu for Wheeler but I would think that it would take more from the Yankees, maybe even Frazier & Abreu.

I would also trade Abreu even up for Wheeler....mostly because Wheeler has already shown what he can do at this level, and contribute this year, while a prospect may or may not ever develop...

The Mets are always paranoid about dealing with the Yanks and their GM has been terrible so far, so I would expect them to be looking for an even more lopsided trade. Which Cash does not do. So I think there’s very little chance this works out unless Van Waggonen really screws up.

Unfortunately for him and the Yankees, Frazier has been pretty bad at the plate since being sent down, after being pretty bad in the field before being sent down, and handling the whole part in the middle pretty poorly. 0-3 with 2 Ks yesterday against a guy with a 5.50 ERA in AAA. So his chances of getting promoted aren’t improving and neither is his trade value. Other teams are watching this also. For a kid with a lot of promise who was hitting really well things have taken a very unfortunate turn.

If the Yanks are looking for a starter, the price probably just went up ironically not because of them but because the astros just lost a starter. That’s going to put them in the market and they are never afraid to deal prospects for top talent. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them land Boyd.

We have too many players in the infield but with Frazier declining in trade value we won't end up with an elite pitcher probably

The Astros leadership seems to understand the importance of having top-tier starting pitching, and they don’t typically dumpster dive. For some reason, the Yankees have a tendency to bargain shop. It’s not that they don’t look for talent, it’s that they look for hidden talent. The JamesPaxton’s that have an injury history fit the profile perfectly...So far it seems we’ve done better finding hitters than pitchers... I think we need to start a school for knuckle ballers. No one is allowed to register for school until they are at least 35 years old...

I think cashman is afraid of being burned by trading elite players for elite players. With Andujar return next year we have far to many infielders. He probably should be traded.

I think cashman is afraid of being burned by trading elite players for elite players. . You’ve said this before and it’s been explained that the actual trades he has made demonstrate exactly the opposite but you keep saying it anyway. It doesn’t become more true just by you continuing to repeat something untrue.
