No profanity. No threats. Just the usual social media immaturity. Again, the solution was self-evident. There are real problems in the world; this is not one of them.

We see this differently so we can agree to disagree. Someone does this to my kid they’re going to have a conversation with me. That a grown man who is allegedly successful couldn’t stop himself from doing this because he’s so thin skinned that her comments triggered this kind or response says a lot to me about his lack of character. I didn’t say it was a “real problem in the world” - nothing about baseball is a “real problem in the world” because baseball is a meaningless trivial form of entertainment. So absolutely nothing anyone has ever discussed here is “a real problem in the world”. But it also isn’t irrelevant if the subject is Trevor Bauer and whether or not a fan wants him on their team. He’s an adult who lacks self control and good judgement. I doubt it is an isolated episode that won’t repeat itself. The team that acquires him gets a talented pitcher who also is likely to do something stupid again like this. As I said before, I doubt most Yankees fans care so long as he can pitch.

The “kid” is over 21 years old. I would hope by that age, “Daddy” wouldn’t be needed to intervene on Twitter. And, what exactly would be your response? Neoteny must be arrested at some point.

So, you wouldn’t have intervened, then? Also, who is celebrating it? Whoops, your post disappeared...

Sticking my nose in, just because I like to...
I saw fault on both parts. I don’t know if that girl was 21 or not. Bauer commented on her “underage drinking”, which may or may not be true. Either way there seems to be a lot of that kind of stupidity even on Facebook with the older demographic so rather than calling this a maturity issue, I’d call it an issue of a lack of social intellect. Maybe that’s a very thin line that I don’t quite “get”.
I know that I read that Bauer went to his team mates and asked them why he was so unlikable in an attempt to see what he could do to fit in better. That at least shows he wanted to make a difference. Highly intellectual from what I understand, but common manners etc. seem not to have much meaning or appeal to him.
If the girl was a minor, then as a parent I would surely not be happy with Bauer, but I would also not be happy with my child and would want her to know that, too...If she was an adult, depending on her situation (living at home, married, whatever) I’d still want her to understand how foolish what she did was...You ignore that kind of weird shit and it tends to dry up and go away...The world of Twitter is not the real world. Go out and talk to some real people, folks (said the man with about 10,000,000,000 posts)... (:
<But believe me, I talk to real people a LOT>... (:

Btw, she is 21 and about to graduate from college. The underage drinking comment referred to her prior posts before she was 21, which is the age for buying/drinking alcohol (differs from state to state).

I recall now that the article or feed or whatever it’s called said Bauer had looked at her older Tweets. Bauer is definitely an odd duck it seems. The girl may be, too... I’m not sure why we care. He didn’t stalk and kill her, or injure her. She didn’t stalk and kill him or injure him. Words are only words. Too many of us let them hurt us these days. This would seem to be a couple of acts of stupidity that got way too much attention...

Debate only occurs when there is a disagreement, but no worries.

I love reading debate between you two. It has to do with the way you both dig in to support your view and the way you also are totally demanding of the other person that they present evidence.
In this case. Yeah. Maybe there was no final resolution, but that’s okay sometimes, too...

www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/report-astros-among-teams-that-could-explore-noah-syndergaard-trade/ar-AAE8fdi?li=BBnba9I
The New York Mets are expected to be sellers at the MLB trade deadline, and there has been talk that they could part ways with Noah Syndergaard if they can get a massive haul. The Houston Astros already have one of the best starting rotations in baseball, but they may be among the teams who inquire about the right-hander.
Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that multiple teams have contacted the Mets about a potential Syndergaard trade, and there are some within the Astros organization who are “intrigued” by the idea of adding him. Syndergaard won’t be eligible for free agency until after the 2021 season, and All-Star Gerritt Cole is set to hit the market this winter.
The Milwaukee Brewers are another team that is monitoring Syndergaard and fellow Mets starter Zack Wheeler. The latter is set to become a free agent after the season, so New York seems likely to move him. READ MORE...

I don't know if it's circular reporting or not, where every news item is used to quote the next news item, but there is a lot of smoke being blown about on the Yanks acquiring Trevor Bauer....he would be a great add for most of us....we might lose Fatness, however....if it's just Frazier, and another piece, it would be a very good deal for the Yankees, imo...

Definitely wouldn't lose me over Trevor Bauer. He's a douche, but he's far from the worst person to play for the Yankees, that's for sure. As to how likely it is they'd trade for him, normally I would say Cashman's MO is not to make the deal the press are talking about. On the other hand, he sent Naehring to scout him and Naehring is the best they have.

Bauer was a bit shaky early this season, but he’s gone 4-0 with the Indians winning each of his last six starts. He’s pitched to a 2.90 ERA during those starts. Only once all season has he been pulled before completing 5 innings, and only 4 times has he failed to complete at least 6 innings. We could use a dose of that...

I don't like Bauer and his personality of course. But it's not like he beat his wife or something. He's just an immature type dude. I'd gladly have him and his pitching talent on the team if the price is right.
