I don't like Bauer and his personality of course. But it's not like he beat his wife or something. He's just an immature type dude. I'd gladly have him and his pitching talent on the team if the price is right. Agreed. Also, he has spent a lot of time at Driveline. The guy they just hired as pitching coordinator, Sam Briend, comes from there. Cashman values the athlete that studies that stuff in the way Ottavino does. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they were very interested in him even at a high price.

Bauer was a bit shaky early this season, but he’s gone 4-0 with the Indians winning each of his last six starts. He’s pitched to a 2.90 ERA during those starts. Only once all season has he been pulled before completing 5 innings, and only 4 times has he failed to complete at least 6 innings. We could use a dose of that... And he's been a big help getting the Tribe back in the AL Central & Wild Card race, so Cleveland isn't going to trade him unless they get major league ready talent in return. Would Cashman give up Frazier and more for Bauer?

Would Cashman give up Frazier and more for Bauer? yes, I think so....there was some discussion here that it would take Frazier and maybe more to get Wheeler...Bauer is much better, and controlled for another year while Wheeler is a FA after this season....a pitcher who is a project, or an infielder like Wade....why not..

realistically though, Cleveland is without Kluber, Carrasco, and Clevenger....can they really hope to do more than limp to the playoffs?...is that enough for them versus getting much needed offensive help in trading Bauer?...they will probably want to see what happens with themselves and Minnesota in the next 3 weeks...

With the Indians in the playoff chase, with Kluber on the 60 day IL and Carrasco being treated for leukemia I think the Indians have to keep Bauer unless they get young pitching back that they believe can help right away along with Frazier and possibly Estrada. I don’t think they take Wade, as he’s basically a throw-away at this point. You might have to add a lottery ticket MiLB to all of that to push the deal over the edge. The Yanks may benefit by being patient if the Indians hit a little slump now before the deadline, but if they stay hot...I don’t think they deal him. They’ll risk losing him if it could mean a World Series this year...

I am far outside of Cleveland, but 1948 was a long time ago, and they do not have a club that is anywhere close to making a run through a playoff system....barring an absolute miracle ending, imo... They may hang onto Bauer because they have him for next year, and think they get their injured pitchers back, and maybe sign some FA help over the winter, shooting for 2020....but they are smoking some of that dome stuff if they think they possibly could win a WS this year...

All you have to do is get in. Once you're in, anything can happen...If you do anything that makes it appear you don't want in, the fans can get really teed off. You have to play the game... We'll all sit around In the kitchen chairs With the TV on And the neighbors there...

I thought about that as well. I can remember a couple of people that worked for me in the Greenhouse trade that I had to handle in a particular way to obtain optimum results. They were people the owners originally wanted to let go and I was able to make them highly productive by semi-specializing what they did. When that was done, they absolutely became extremely loyal and performed the specific tasks I assigned them to much better than anyone else on the staff could. I used to piss those owners off with the way I could turn people around. They were used to disposable people that they treated like crap (me as well, at times) because they didn’t have people skills...

I can reflect back on a couple subordinates of mine that probably would have benefitted from your management.... Bauer could benefit from some simple (they seem simple to me) suggestions....the first being: get rid of the twitter account...the second: be nice to the media even if you hate their guts....

One would think greenhouse people to have sunny dispositions, have it made in the shade, and embrace growth.
