I think Grisham still has a minor league option left, if so he could get sent down to AAA but kept on the team. I would bet they'd do that rather than cut him loose.
I don't think they would bring up the Martian though if he'd be in Grisham's slot - extra OF who doesn't play much. I would think they'd want him to be playing full time.

His return signals the end of Grisham. Good point, he is definitely low man on poll to be DFA or traded away in some kind of package. |

As much as I have enjoyed Verdugo, I’d trade him to make room for Jasson’s return. Verdugo is more of a supporting cast guy, he’s not going to carry a team. Alex, you’re a good guy, and you were fun while you lasted, but… bye bye! Have a nice career wherever you wind up. We’ll take some good prospects and a relief pitcher for you in a heart beat…
And Grisham? Yeah. Minor leagues, trade, cash sale. Whatever. Good player in the right situation. I can’t believe the Pads were starting him…

The Yankees love him and he's the one who came up with "we're dawgs out there". Things have a way of shaking out. He's the best player we've had out there since Gardner. Agreed. As I've previously said, Verdugo is exactly the type of player this team needs. Ideally, Yanks are eventually able to move Stanton to make room for Dominguez in '25... an OF of Verdugo, Judge, Soto & Dominguez...pick your DH from that group. |

As I've previously said, Verdugo is exactly the type of player this team needs. Ideally, Yanks are eventually able to move Stanton to make room for Dominguez in '25... an OF of Verdugo, Judge, Soto & Dominguez...pick your DH from that group. Going to be hard to move a player with a full NTC. Guys like Dominguez and Soto are way too young to need games as the DH. Plus I am not sure they'd want to block Spencer Jones long term with a long FA contract for any OF, Dugo included. I am a fan of his but with Hal wanting to cut payroll I am not sure he'll be back. I can't see Judge playing the OF for his entire contract. At some point I think they may shift him to 1b. Maybe once Jones is ready. Soto in RF with Jones/Martian covering CF/LF. Judge at 1b, G the DH. |

By the time Dominguez is done with his "Spring Training", someone will be on the IL. Stanton's overdue.
