Boy, I can't wait until DJ LeMahieu comes back and clogs up the base paths from the lead off spot.  He would have been safe sliding into second on that ball…wouldn’t have been able to go to third on the fly ball… |

FB waist high, 2-3 inches outside, 1-0 on Rizzo
Hanging slider near the outside corner, puts a good swing on it, but misses under, high fly to medium deep right is an easy catch for Lowe. Inning over.
Yanks hit 4 balls well, but just one run.
Bottom 1, 1-0 Yanks

Elsewhere in the standings...
In the AL Central, the Guardians went have lost three in a row and are now just 8 games over and 1/2 game up on both the Twins and the Royals. The Twins had their 3-game winning streak snapped yesterday, and are percentage points ahead of the Royals in 2nd. Kansas City had its 3-game winning streak snapped by the Angels yesterday. The Tigers have hit a skid, losing 6 of 7 before winning yesterday. They're now 1 game over, 3 1/2 back of the Guardians and 3 behind both the Twins and Royals. The White Sox won again yesterday, their 4th in a row, and have climbed up from being on pace to be the worst team in MLB history to being just plain awful. They're 16 games under and 8 1/2 back of the Tigers for fourth, and 13 games out of 1st.

Slider in the middle at the knees, hit hard toward the 56 hole, but Volpe backhands the smash, makes the jumpthrow and gets Diaz who slid into first for no reason, 1 down.

Cutter near middle, Lowe smashes it to the right side, Torres sort of falls, plays it on the side but gets it and throws him out.
Two excellent plays on very hard hit balls so far.
