Ugh, Gil with a nasty habit of walking guys after getting the first two outs.

Bounces a slider, Trevino can't keep it in front of him, and Arozarena goes to 3rd with 2 down on the wild pitch, 2-1 Change misses down and in 3-1. Change in a terrible spot down and in, but within the drop the bat happy zone, 3-2. I guess Paredes was looking FB there. FB up in the zone, Paredes late and under, Soto comes in and to his right a few steps, catches, inning over.
!-0 Yanks going top 2nd.
16 pitches for Gil in the 1st. Torres, Berti and Trevino in the 2nd for the Yanks.

By the way, good afternoon Yankee fans! And Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! Which announcer was it who said one Mother's Day: "Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there?" Torres swings on a 1st pitch FB outer half waist high, drives it deep to right, but Lowe catches on the track, 1 down.

Think it was either the Scooter or Jerry Coleman, two nice guys know for unintentional inappropriate remarks.

Still more standings...
In the NL East, the Phillies remained white-hot. Their win yesterday was their 20th in 24 games. They're now 28-12, .700, in first place with the best record in MLB. The Braves snapped their 3-game losing streak yesterday, nearly no-hitting the Mets until J.D. Martinez hit a solo HR with 2 outs in the 9th. They're 12 games over and 2 games back of the Phils. The Nationals had won 3 of 4 this week, but lost to the Red Sox yesterday. They've back at .500, 6 behind the Braves and 8 behind the Phillies. The Mets lost for the 5th time in 7 games, and have fallen behind the Nats into 4th. They're 1 game back of Washington, 7 games behind the Braves, and 9 games out of 1st. The Marlins have lost 5 in a row and 14 of 18 to claim the title of worst team in MLB. They're now 21 under, 9 1/2 back of the Mets, 10 1/2 back of the Nats, 16 1/2 back of the Braves, and 18 1/2 out of first. At the quarter pole.
Palacios swings over a change going low, then gets a FB inner half above the waist, lines it into right for a leadoff single.
