OK, checked notifications, so I think it's time to say auf wiedersien for tonight. Knic win by 30, take a 3-2 lead back to Indianapolis for Game 6 tomorrow evening. Game 2 of this series against the Twins is tomorrow at 7:40 pm, unfortunately on Prime Delayed Video, so I'll be my usual 2-4 pitches behind Gameday. Marcus Stroman for the Yanks has his hands full; Twins' ace Pablo Lopez is the opposing pitcher. That's going to do it for me for tonight. See you guys tomorrow evening. Good night to all. Bye Gnite qwik!

a nice "tidy" win to go 13 games over .500 for the 1st time. rodon started a little shakey until he found his slider but overall a very solid start. will give potg. 3 scoreless by hamilton & holmes. good to see hamilton get back on track. a rare game where everyone got a hit. will give verdugo & stanton honorable mention. 2 hits for volpe, stanton, torres & ocab. continue our mastery of the twins. Just my 2 cents, it was especially nice to see Torres and Stanton get 2 hits each.

I have criticized him at the start of the season, but once again I will give him credit when credit is due. His wildness is gone, and his pitches have been way above average with late movement. After the few hiccups at the start of the season, he's been excellent.
I liked the Holmes trade when the Yankees made it because of his hits to innings pitched ratio, but I never dreamed that he would be such a good Closer. So far it looks like Cashman found another gem.

Divincenzo picked up his fifth foul on that last basket as well, and must leave the game. Staumont in for the 9th for the Twins.
For those that didn't see it, DiVincenzo was in the middle of a couple of situations where it looked like a fight might break out.

Hartenstein with 17 rebounds tonight, 12 of them offensive rebounds, getting the Knic a ton of 2nd chances. In my opinion, he's a must sign for the Knicks in the off season.
He's a big part of the reason why the Knicks have made it this far in the playoffs without 3 starters (Randle, Robinson, OG). And, without a key player off the bench (Bogdanovic).

Good news for the Rangers: Bruins top the Panthers 2-1 tonight to extend that series, meaning the Panthers won't get extra rest before facing the Rangers. Assuming the Rangers win one of the last two, not a sure thing at all now. Hurricanes have found a formula. Stay out of the box and make the Rangers earn it 5 on 5. I'd like to see the Bruins and Rangers win their series. I'd rather see an old school Bruins/Rangers playoff match up.
The same would apply if both the Knicks and Celtics win their series.

True, but I sure wish the other four weren't hurt. Especially if the Knic survive this round and have to face the Celtics next. That team is loaded.

I hope the Bruins win, too, but for a different reason: I think the Rangers will have enormous trouble getting scoring chances against the Panthers team defense, big, strong, AND fast. They take away all the Rangers cross-ice, head-man and across the goal mouth passing. I don't like that matchup at all for the Rangers. The Bruins are tough, too, but they play a similar game to the Rangers, one I think the Rangers are slightly better at.

I don't know what time, but Knicks/Pacers Game 6 is being played on Friday. The time of Game 6 hasn't been set yet by the NBA, because game 6 of Celts-Cavs is already set for 8:30 on Friday. Knicks might have to play a 6 pm start to not conflict, TV schedule-wise, with that game If there is a game 7 on Sunday at the Garden, it'll be 3:30 on ABC (Chanel 7 in NYC).

If the Knicks happen to play the Celtics in the next round, it would be an epic upset if the Knicks won that series.
