Miranda takes a 1st pitch slider in the zone down and in, 0-1
Standstill step-off throw to 1st.
Bad FB 95, just inside middle, but Miranda misses, fouls it back, 0-2
Big breaking slider winds up in a terrible spot, thigh high over the middle, and he's lucky to get that one back, fouled off
Slider down and in, but bounced and taken, 1-2
Command way off so far.
Same bad slider, thigh one a little further inside, and Miranda just misses under, high fly to medium left, easy play for Verdugo, 2 down.
Got away with another poorly located pitch there. That won't last forever.

Witness protection program? Bring them back, please. You don't like Nelson? He's not as good as the other three you mentioned but I think he's pretty decent too. |

FB just above inside, Margot inside outs it to right for a hit, Soto right on it, so Correa stops at 2nd with 2 down.
Long first inning for Rodon, but can still escape with minimum damage if he makes a good pitch or two.

FB in the drop the bat happy zone at 95, pulled foul, 1-1
Slider down and in, just misses low, excellent pitch, but Santana read it right anyway, bad sign, 2-1
FB inside corner above the waist, bounced foul, 2-2

You don't like Nelson? He's not as good as the other three you mentioned but I think he's pretty decent too. He's ok, just like Coney and O'Neill better. Big breaking slider starts waist high and dives back leg, a much worse pitch than the one he took two pitches before, but he chases this one for a big K to get out of the jam. Top 2, 1-0 Twins. 26 pitches for Rodon in the 1st. Rizzo, Torres, and Wells for the Yanks in the 2nd. |
