So, Roseanne has been canned, and now the head hunters are disappointed that Sandra Bee still has her job. Well, I tend to agree. There is no place for a word like "Feckless" on TV... (:

I've been saying this since high school.. even wrote a paper on it in like 11 to grade.. so I've noticed this slowly happening for at least the past 15 years. It was funny bc the other day I was telling my mom that shit she disagreed with me about 15 years ago.. she's not preaching to me.
Even as far as baseball goes with the slides we were talking about yesterday. Our culture in general is becoming pussified. I call it the pussification of America. We're becoming soft in all areas of our lives. We coddle our children to the point they'll be eaten up when it comes to the real world. They'll have to learn the hard way that life doesn't cater to their needs... It's unfair.. and a vast majority of people don't give a fuck what you think.
It's funny too because the people who are pushing this agenda to pussify everything are claiming to do it under enlightening the next generation. I'm just scared another stronger country is seeing this happen and salivating at the chance to conquer this weak generation. (Yes I'm looking at you China and Russia).
And this whole rant is not political. Both parties are responsible for this on their own way. This is not a political rant but a social rant. We're living in a society who coddles the youth with lies and shields them from the truth.
End rant for now...

It's Samantha bee Inger. Did some googling and found out what she said. Politics aside... That comedian isn't all that funny. I'm surprised her show has lasted as long as it did. She wasn't horrible when she was on that comedy Central show as she is now.

America is absolutely too PC. Roseanne and Samantha Bee are also both idiots. Both things are true.

I didn't catch the name, but I caught a glimpse of some female in a government position that was making the statement that if Barr was canned, then there MUST be consistency and Bee must also be fired. Such ill logic...For one thing, they work for different networks, and for another they said different things about different people. Its' not like they both were on the President's cabinet or some other government agency. The networks can well decide where to draw their own lines.
Roseanne has shown many times before that she will go for the gag, and risk not being funny, like the crotch-grabbing, spitting rendition of the national anthem years ago. What's really amazing about that episode is that some idiot thought it was a good idea to allow her to perform the song with that obviously not-made-for-music voice and her reputation...
In this latest issue of her tweet, I felt as though the targets were Jarrett's physical (facial) appearance and her politics. I didn't get the racial aspect of it all, and I'm still uncertain of that. Is Valerie Jarrett bi-racial? Because she doesn't appear to be black...or does the Tweet also somehow draw Obama into the scheme, as well? So, help me understand if you can, cause I think it was a mean-spirited attempt at humor, that should not have gotten much attention from most people.
Samantha (yes, thanks Sierchio, not Sandra...maybe like Roseanne I should inform you that I had taken Ambien before I typed that, which I did) anyway, she was simply looking for attention and when one is on network TV and decides to test one of the seven dirty words, some of which have already been tested and allowed, you know you are taking a risk. At this point, the network did indeed censor the word and life goes on for a comedienne who often over plays jokes to the point that they go past funny for me. That seems to be the most sure way to get attention anymore if you're in comedy. The nation is losing it's sense of humor, so you have to do absolutely stupid shit to get attention and attempt to remain relevant. Where ARE all the great stand up comedians today? It's a lost art...They all either passed away or have become so old they no longer perform...So Samantha Bee has gone the route of becoming a feckless c...No. I'm not going to say it... (now admit it...THAT was comedy)...

We see this in late night shows (Kimmel, Bee, etc.), these award shows/banquets (Michelle Wolf, etc.), and even in just regular acts/shows. Comedians goal should be to make people smile and laugh...what many of them now appear to crave is recognition and approval (from liberals).

In my opinion, Samantha Bee Minus.
However, long live Freedom of Speech, but not at the expense of fraudulence, slander, purposeful untruths, and liable.
Why do we suffer lying politicians, pundits, business practices, etc. decade after decade, yet become apoplectic over mere words intended as comedy?
Be honest, listen carefully, speak your mind, grow a pair and turn the channel.
Most importantly, stop hitting into the shift and glove the ball first, then apply the tag or make the throw. I hold these truths to be self-evident.

Given some of the things our President has said and done, and still was elected, I can’t see how one can draw the conclusion that our society is too politically correct. If anything, that plus these two examples support the proposition that our society has become crude, callous and anti-intellectual, which I personally find sad.
Barr and Bee exist in a commercial environment and the markets responded, as they should.

All excellent points and somewhat buried in the thought process to this point. Of course, I don't really think of famous people as "society". They can surely get away with a lot of things that we can't and they can surely get creamed in the media for things we can get away with. Their lives are "above" the little meaningless puddles we play in... We look at the changes in American society in recent years. I look back at my childhood, where I was reared in a home where the "N" word flowed freely. So naturally, as a child, I repeated what I learned. Of course in our lily white county I had never met a real african american person. I don't think I actually spoke a man of color, any color, until I was about 12 with the exception of my third grade teacher, Miss Chui, who was of Asian descent. So, once I met these people and quickly could see that they were human beings just like me, with feelings and concerns for their family and livelihood, I quickly converted myself to a more tolerant and understanding person. That is a process that continues to this day. I admit to having what I perceive as prejudices. I think that as long as we can see differences they will always exist. But I also will say that prejudice and bigotry are a wide delta apart from one another, and that prejudice can be fixed, while bigotry is an evil monster that has no cure. It's odd, we still revere Casey Stengel, but I read the other day that he was quoted as saying of Elston Howard... "They finally get me an "N", and they get me the only one that can't run". Should we go back to the 1950's and heap Casey with admonishments? Cancel our love for him? Nah...It was a different time, and Casey was reared as I was...in ignorance. In those days no one really seemed to mind ignorance or try to change it...It still stinks that things were that way back then, but that's the past. We have only today to live our lives...The back and forth tug of racism is such a horrible waste of time for all men...and woman...jeez, don't leave the women out. Then we're sexists...

How would one explain the recent offense of cultural appropriation?

How would one explain the recent offense of cultural appropriation? That's a hard one to unravel, I think. I believe some of it is done disrespectfully, while other applications may a poor attempt to fit it with a group, or at the very least in response to peer pressure. I suppose it also has different meanings in different segments of society. I recently met with a black gentleman who is retired from the US Border Patrol. He told me that he wanted his kids to learn how to fit seamlessly into the proper culture in which they could thrive. He told them that if they wanted to be perceived like a thug, they should dress like a thug. If they wanted to appear to be drug addicts, hang out with drug addicts. If they wanted to grow up to be doctors, lawyers, Indian Chief...er Native American Chiefs, then they should hang around with them. He says the kids are doing okay, and making wise choices... In any event, perhaps people simply want to be perceived as something other than what they are...perhaps they feel shame at what they are...
